Where does Titans’ T-Rac land in NFL mascot rankings?

Where does T-Rac land in The Athletic’s mascot rankings?

As much as we all love T-Rac, there’s no question the Tennessee Titans could have gone in a better direction than choosing a raccoon as the team’s mascot.

Of course, the choice for a raccoon makes sense when you consider that it’s the official wild animal for the state of Tennessee, but it’s not exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Titan.

And Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic agrees in her rankings of every NFL mascot. She placed T-Rac at No. 23 of 28 mascots for that exact reason.

23. Tennessee Titans

Mascot: T-Rac

Debut: 1999

Thoughts: You have the option of picking a Titan, and y’all decided to use the state animal, which is a raccoon? That’s hustling backward, friends. He looks cool, but would it look cooler than a Titan? I don’t know, y’all. I think y’all fumbled the bag on this one.

I have to agree with Walker. Some kind of Titan would have made more sense here, but then again you have to think about the kids. I guess a friendly, blue-eyed raccoon certainly checks that box.

No matter what your opinion is of T-Rac, he is ours and we think the world of him. In our eyes, he is a Titan in his own right.
