Week 3 Mountain West Football Power Rankings

Week 3 Mountain West Football Power Rankings These rankings are really tough! Contact/Follow @MWCwire We do have to name a No. 1 The Mountain West had a wild week and it all started when Wyoming hosted Air Force and got the upset win on Friday …

On to what might be the most unique rankings in a very long time.Advertisement There are now four teams that earned a first-place vote with Air Force, Fresno State, Boise State, and Wyoming after its big win over the Falcons.

The point totals are very close this week as well. We head into Week 4 with so many questions.

12. Hawaii (LW: 12, 15 points)

The Warriors gave Timmy Chang his first win of his young career.

11. Colorado State (LW: 11, 20 points)

More transfers are leaving Jay Norvell‘s program and that is not good for this struggling team.

10. Nevada (LW: 8, 33 points)

That Iowa loss was just brutal. Getting shut out was bad enough, that weather delay had to be killer.

9. New Mexico (LW: 1, 40 points)

The Lobos defense are showing a lot of promise in its win over UTEP this past week.

8. Utah State (LW: 7, 68 points)

An off week should help the Aggies regroup. However, head coach Blake Anderson said that QB Logan Bonner could be yanked if he plays poorly.

7. San Jose State (LW: 5, 70 points)

A good time for the Spartans to be off on a bye.

6. San Diego State (LW: 6, 80 points)

Things are not looking good for the Aztecs. They played three quarterbacks in its loss to Utah and Will Haskell ended up leaving the program.

5. UNLV (LW: 8, 89 points)

The leading scoring team in the conference just might be onto something.

4. Wyoming (LW: 6, 84 points)

A very nice win over Air Force puts the Cowboys at the top of the Mountain Division. Plus, the team looks like it has overcome its early season issues.

3. Fresno State (LW: 1, 1 first-place vote, 100 points)

QB Jake Heaner was hurt with a high ankle sprain against USC. The hope is that Haener’s injury isn’t too bad.

2. Air Force (LW: 1, 4 first-place votes, 104 points)

They lose to Wyoming but that doesn’t change all that much where they are ranked, especially with the weird week of who lost and won.

1. Boise State (LW: 3, 3 first-place votes 106 points)

Barely taking over the top spot after its closer than expected win over UT-Martin.
