Week 12 Mountain West Football Power Rankings Top few stay the same Contact/Follow @MWCwire One more week to make some noise There is one more week in Mountain West play as we head into the final full slate of games before Boise State hosts Fresno …

As for those first-place votes, Boise State took home eight and then it was Fresno State who was No. 2 and then Air Force third in the league. San Diego State made a jump to the third spot after Wyoming’s loss to Boise State.

The bottom teams made a slight change with New Mexico now holding down the 12th and final spot as the Lobos remain winless in Mountain West play.

12. New Mexico (LW: 11, 13 points)

This team just needs some sort of offense, specifically a quarterback.

11. Nevada (LW: 12, 17 points)

The positive is that Nate Cox looked a little bit better but this whole team has a ways to go.

10. Hawaii (LW: 11, 26 points)

The offense is looking a bit better and being healthy helps a lot, and it showed in their upset win at home to spoil UNLV’s bowl chances.

9. Colorado State (LW: 10, 30 points)

Wide receiver Tory Horton has a case for being the best offensive player in the conference. Too bad his team isn’t all that great this year.

8. UNLV (LW: 8, 48 points)

That Hawaii loss stung and the difficulty of the back half of the schedule and coupled with injuries, the Rebels are almost for sure going to miss out on a bowl game.

Week 12 Mountain West Bowl Projections

7. San Jose State (LW: 3, 52 points)

Upset by Utah State but a chance to get to seven wins as they play in the Dick Tomey game at home against Hawaii.

6. Utah State (LW: 7, 60 points)

If only this team was better early in the season than late, they’d have a shot at repeating as conference champions. All things are rolling before the finale and a surprise bowl game.

5. Wyoming (LW: 4, 76 points)

It all comes down to its passing game. Literally, everything else is there for this team to be a conference contender. Even with QB issues, the Pokes were right here until the final two weeks.

4. San Diego State (LW: 4, 80 points)

Again, Jalen Mayden showed up at quarterback. Let’s cross our fingers he doesn’t hit the portal in a moth.

3. Air Force (LW: 3, 1 first-place vote, 90 points)

Not super dominant vs. their rivals the Rams but good enough to just bully Colorado State around to win.

2. Fresno State (LW: 4, 1 first-place vote, 100 points)

All things are clicking for Fresno State. They are healthy and ready to go for the title game in a few weeks.

1. Boise State (LW: 1, 8 first-place vote, 111 points)

The Broncos are looking to cap an undefeated conference slate, and those words were likely in very few minds after that early season loss to UTEP.
