CHARLOTTE — Tennessee is scheduled to kickoff the 2020 season Sept. 5 against Charlotte at Neyland Stadium.
Will Healy, 35, enters his second season as head coach at Charlotte. The 49ers finished last season with a 7-6 overall record (5-3 C-USA), recording the program’s first winning season and bowl appearance.
Charlotte fielded a football team between 1946–48 before the program ended from 1949–2012. The 49ers’ program returned, playing as an FCS Independent (2013–14) and joining Conference USA in 2015.
