The Boston Celtics are primed to move up in the 2020 NBA draft with three first-round picks and another late in the second round, and there are few if any better targets for their needs than French floor general Killian Hayes.
The 6-foot-5, left-handed guard can score with ease in a variety of ways or pass the rock with startling accuracy to hit an open shooter.
While his game isn’t flawless, his most frequent comparison is to another prolific lefty scorer — Houston Rockets superstar James Harden.
Not bad company to be mentioned in, and while it’s unfair to set the bar that high for any prospect in any draft, you can see enough similarities that it’s hard not to get excited about having this guy on your team.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer suggests Hayes might just be the steal of the draft in the video embedded above, with an in-depth video analysis of the strengths of the top point guard prospect.
If you haven’t had a chance to look into his game — or just want to daydream about a trade-up scenario that may well never materialize — check out the clip linked above; you won’t be disappointed — at least not before November 18th, anyway.
