WATCH: Highlights of Jaguars No. 1 pick Travon Walker

Here are some highlights of the Jags’ No. 1 pick in Travon Walker.

The Jacksonville Jaguars came into Thursday’s draft with the first overall pick for the second consecutive time in the last two seasons. However, they kept the suspense up for a while this time as the decision wasn’t as clear as it was last year when there was a generational quarterback in the mix.

Ultimately, the Jags went with Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker, who was one of the key members of a national championship defense. Walker ultimately finished his 2021 season with 33 tackles (7.5 of which were for loss), and six sacks. In terms of his career stats, he accumulated 61 total tackles and 13 career sacks.

Walker caught the eyes of many when he impressed at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine where he ran a 4.51 in the 40-yard dash and registered a 123″ broad jump figure at over 270 pounds. Clearly, that made many scouts curious about seeing if he has the potential to be the next big thing in terms of being a top NFL defender, but only time will tell.

Here are some highlights of Walker throughout his journey with the Bulldogs:
