Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew II is one of the league’s most interesting stories, not just because of his unique style, but also his journey into the NFL. To discuss that, Minshew recently got to sit down with The Players’ Tribune to talk about his experiences through the collegiate ranks and just how they shaped him into becoming the Jags QB1.

As many can recall, Minshew went from Troy, to Northwest Mississippi Community College, to East Carolina, to Alabama, and finally Washington State. There he played under offensive guru Mike Leach and was able to put up historic figures, which led to him being a sixth-round selection for the Jags.

His story is one that has made it hard for anyone to root against him and many fans are hoping to see him succeed in 2020. After propelling the Jags to a 6-6 record while he was a starter, Minshew put together a season where he was solid enough to convince the Jags front office to trade veteran Nick Foles.

While the team hasn’t gotten off to the start many were hoping for, Minshew has had some good moments to start the 2020 season. With some consistent success, he could end up solidifying himself as the team’s franchise quarterback — and when looking at his journey into the league, his supporters aren’t necessarily wrong for believing he’ll do just that.
