WATCH: Are the Boston Celtics failing regarding their player development?

Or is the lack of talent emerging from the depths of Boston’s roster a more complex issue?

Are the Boston Celtics botching their player development? With a number of intriguing prospects having moved on to other organizations to find success in recent years from Max Strus, Javonte Green, and Garrison Matthews, fans and analysts are starting to question whether the Celtics’ developmental program could use another look given their slight use of their two-way players at the NBA level, or to cycle through prospects in order to find potential rotation players as some other organizations do.

Are these criticisms accurate and valid? Or do they demonstrate an incomplete picture of what the team is actually doing? What is a good example of using player development to improve the team, and what would Boston need to do to resemble that?

These questions and more are broached in a recent episode of the CLNS Media “A-List” Podcast, with hosts Kwani A. Lunis, A. Sherrod Blakely, and Gary “A.” Washburn (we just gave him an imaginary middle initial to fit in), as the trio discussed the status of Celtics player development..
