Warriors vs. Wizards: Steph Curry drops 17 points in preseason win at NBA Japan Games

Steph Curry helped lead the Warriors to their second preseason win with 17 first half points against the Wizards in Japan.

Before the Golden State Warriors return home to the Bay Area for the remainder of training camp, they had a preseason rematch against the Washington Wizards at Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Saturday evening. 

After a victory in the preseason opener against the Wizards, the Warriors went right back to business on Saturday. Steph Curry got the Warriors going with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field with three triples, five boards and two assists in the first half.

After Curry’s night was over in the first half, Moses Moody and rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. took over off the bench. 

Moody and Baldwin each tallied double-figure scoring performances for the Warriors. Moody tallied 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with two 3-pointers and two assists in 25 minutes. 

Baldwin Jr. played 17 minutes, scoring 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field with six rebounds, an assist and a steal. In his second preseason appearance, Baldwin Jr. showed off his smooth jumper, hitting four triples on five attempts from deep. 

Mac McClung scored nine points on 4-of-6 shooting in the fourth quarter to help the Warriors seal their second straight win over the Wizards in the preseason, 104-95.

Following two wins in Japan, the Warriors will return to San Francisco for three more preseason games before opening night against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 14.
