Update: Number of NFL players to receive COVID-19 vaccines increases

The number of NFL players that have received a COVID-19 vaccine has reportedly increased:

With time away from the field in recent weeks between spring workouts and training camp at the end of this month, it appears NFL players are using that to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Or at least some are doing so.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero updated the number of players that have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot on Wednesday. The figures have increased as compared to previous reports:

Reportedly on June 15, at least half of the NFL’s teams had 51 players or more on their roster with one vaccination shot. Comparing that to the new league-wide 68 percent number per NFL Media, numbers have gone up.

Additionally, the 85 percent tier has also increased. On June 17, MMQB’s Albert Breer reported two teams, the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, were the only two clubs to have a vaccinated player figure at 85 percent or higher. Now the league has more than doubled that.
