The countdown to the 2023 college football season rolls on for the North Carolina Tar Heels as they are set to take on South Carolina in Week 1.
For UNC, the Tar Heels welcome back one of the best players in the country with quarterback Drake Maye returning. But they also return a big weapon in tight end Bryson Nesbit.
Last season, Nesbit was one of UNC’s best players on offense and a top target for Maye behind Josh Downs and Antoine Green. He’s expected to have a big role again this season under Chip Lindsey’s offense and if Nesbit plays well, he could improve his draft stock.
On Tuesday, Nesbit was named a top prospect at his position for the 2024 NFL draft by Pro Football Focus:

Nesbit checked in at No. 4 on the list behind Georgia’s Brock Bowers, Texas’ Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Iowa’s Luke Lachey.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Nesbit has good size and speed, making him a threat on the offense. His pass-catching abilities have also improved over his career at UNC. If he does take a step forward in his development, his stock could rise even more.
