UNC basketball program offers top 20 player in 2026 class

The UNC basketball program has a new target in the 2026 recruiting class.

Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are still seeking their first commitment for the 2025 recruiting class. But that’s not stopping them from showing interest in 2026 prospects along the way.

On Wednesday, Davis and the Tar Heels officially offered four-star small forward Cameron Holmes, the recruit announced via social media. Holmes is the sixth player to earn an offer from North Carolina in the 2026 class and the third small forward to get an offer.

He joins Jordan Smith, Caleb Holt, Cole Cloer, Tyran Stokes, and Miikka Muurinen as the players to get offers.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Holmes is a Goodyear, Arizona product that plays at Millennium High School. He has a total of 11 offers including from Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, Oregon, and UCLA among other programs. That list will continue to grow as his recruitment goes on.

The Tar Heels are continuing to make prospects priorities in future classes, establishing their recruiting boards for 2025 and 2026. They will need some strong classes after losing premier talent like Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram, plus RJ Davis entering his final year.

They could also lose players like Ian Jackson, Elliot Cadeau, and Drake Powell after this season as well.

Holmes is ranked No. 16 nationally, the No. 5 small forward and No. 3 player in the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings for the 2026 class.
