Michigan basketball got major news on Sunday evening when sophomore big man Hunter Dickinson announced a return to college basketball for his junior season.
Dickinson’s draft stock varied on different mock drafts, but his return wasn’t a guarantee, and the news was pretty ground-breaking for the college basketball world.
Many people around the sports world are guessing that NIL may have had a hand in Dickinson’s return — just like Oscar Tshiebwe from Kentucky — plus a chance to get Michigan a championship.
Dickinson led the Wolverines this year putting up 18.6 points-per-game, 8.6 rebounds-per-game, and 2.3 assists-per-game.
So far Michigan has lost just De’Vante Jones to the NBA draft, while it also lost Zeb Jackson and Brandon Johns Jr. to the transfer portal — both committed to VCU to finish their basketball careers.
As of this article, there has not been any official word on freshman Caleb Houstan nor Moussa Diabate on their NBA draft decision.
Here are the best Twitter reactions after Hunter Dickinson announced his decision to return to Ann Arbor.
