Trevelin Queen reacts to Sixers summer league debut in win over Jazz

Philadelphia 76ers wing player Trevelin Queen reacts to his summer debut after a win over the Utah Jazz.

It’s July in the NBA which means that it’s time for the summer league in preparation for the 2022-23 season. The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in the Salt Lake City summer league in Utah and they were able to see the debut of one of their free agency signings.

Trevelin Queen, who comes from the Houston Rockets, did not play in Tuesday’s summer league opener due to reconditioning, but he was able to make his debut in a win on Wednesday over the Jazz.

It was a bit of a mixed bag for Queen as he drilled a long triple to start the game, but he had a few turnovers mixed in with some missed assignments on defense, but overall he was solid. He finished with 15 points and four rebounds with three assists in the win.

Afterward, Queen talked with Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer to discuss his Sixers summer debut:

“That just comes with the game, being away from it and trying to get back under the lights and a fast pace game,” Queen said. “A new system. I’m trying to see where I fit in, where I can get in at. But I know one thing I can always be good teammates and bring the energy. I felt I did that.”

Queen is going to play a big part in the summer version of the Sixers and as they get set to wrap up the Salt Lake City part of the summer league before heading to Vegas, he will continue to receive an opportunity. This is the time for him to fight through mistakes and continue to show what he can do before it looks like he will get a chance to be in the rotation for the 2022-23 season.
