Todd Bowles highlights growing list of coaching interviews for Vikings

Vikings set to interview Todd Bowles and others this week.

The list keeps getting bigger and bigger for the Minnesota Vikings. However, the next round of potential coaching candidates comes with some serious heavy hitters, including Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Bowles was the brilliant mind behind the defense that grounded the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LV. The Bucs tamed the cheetah in Tyreek Hill and turned quarterback Patrick Mahomes into a real-life crash test dummy.

It was complete domination.

Bowles served as the head coach for the New York Jets for four years before finally being fired in 2018. It was only a matter of time before his name would creep back up in conversations again.

And the same goes for Quinn, who served as the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons during that ill-fated Super Bowl LI loss to the New England Patriots.

Quinn and the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead and allowed Tom Brady and the Patriots to complete the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. After being fired in Atlanta, he took over the reins for the Cowboys defense and helped put them back on the map.

Speaking of getting put back on the map, Moore’s offensive play-calling had the Cowboys leading the league in scoring offense and coming in second behind Tampa Bay in total offense.

All three coaches are intriguing options to replace Zimmer and work with one of the more talented rosters in the league.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bowles is expected to complete his interview on Friday afternoon, while Moore and Quinn are both expected to be interviewed this week at some point as well.
