The NBA Playoffs are filled with ups and downs. One minute, a team can be up 3-1 in a series and have all the confidence in the world, but in an instance, that can be gone as the opposition stages a huge comeback. That happens because that team did not get too low on themselves despite the deficit.
For the Philadelphia 76ers, they find themselves down 0-1 in a series with the explosive Boston Celtics and they are missing one of their leaders in Ben Simmons. It could be easy to just hang their heads and just lie down. However, that does not fly in the NBA or with this Sixers team.
“It’s the playoffs and at the end of the day, we all as competitors hate to lose,” said Tobias Harris at practice on Tuesday. “From last night up to this morning, it’s a sour taste, but at the same time we know the opportunity ahead and this league is all about confidence so you can’t hang your head for too long. You’ve got to be able to get right back up, keep your confidence high, keep your mind right, and just be ready to get better out there.”
The Sixers understand that their issues are pretty easy to fix. They have to take better care of the ball and they need to be more aggressive on the glass. They cannot allow the Celtics to have the same success on the offensive glass in Game 2.
“There are a lot of things from Game 1 that we definitely could’ve been better at and we know that as a collective group so we have to stay positive with it and be ready for our next game tomorrow,” said Harris. “That’s where it’s at and that’s the best way to look at it too.”
The Sixers and the Celtics will continue their series on Wednesday night inside the bubble. [lawrence-related id=36950,36944,36941]
