Titans’ Ryan Tannehill will start in Week 18 if Will Levis doesn’t play

The Titans will start Ryan Tannehill in Week 18 if Will Levis can’t go.

The status of Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis is once again up in the air in Week 18 after he suffered a foot injury in the Week 17 loss against the Houston Texans.

Tennessee should absolutely sit Levis, even if he’s healthy enough to play, as the offensive line simply can’t be trusted to keep him out of harm’s way, as we saw in Sunday’s loss.

When asked about Levis’ status on Tuesday, head coach Mike Vrabel said he wasn’t sure if Levis would be able to go and the team would see how things play out during the week.

He did reveal, however, that Ryan Tannehill would start if the Kentucky product doesn’t suit up.

If Tannehill does indeed get the ball, he’ll be making what is almost certainly his last start in the two-tone blue, and it’ll come at Nissan Stadium, giving fans the chance to send him off.

Sure, the playoff struggles have been a stain on his tenure, but Tannehill far exceeded expectations overall and did a lot to lift this franchise out of the muck upon taking over in 2019.

He deserves a positive goodbye, no matter the outcome of the game.

Tennessee going with Tannehill is yet another bad sign for Willis. The fact that the Titans didn’t even give him a look down the stretch with Levis not playing says a lot about how little they think of him.
