The Tennessee Titans made their only addition to the offensive line thus far in the 2022 NFL draft when they selected Ohio State offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere in the third round (No. 69 overall).

How soon Petit-Frere will contribute is up for debate.

While the hope is that NPF can earn the starting right tackle job right away, many believe he’ll need time to develop and will ultimately be the future at left tackle starting in 2023.

For now, Petit-Frere says he is ready to get to work and help the team out any way he can. He also adds that his own philosophy matches up perfectly with Tennessee’s.

“All I remember from that (pre-draft) visit (with the Titans) and what I caught from that was: be ready to work,” Petit-Frere said, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “If we do pick you, if you do get the opportunity to become a Tennessee Titan, be ready to work and be ready to compete because that’s what they do every single day, and that’s my mantra. That’s how I am every single day. I am ready to work, ready to compete for the team and I want to help this team win. I want to be the best teammate I can for the Tennessee Titans.”

Petit-Frere was particularly excited to block for superstar running back Derrick Henry, who he hopes to become best friends with.

“Oh my God are you kidding me? It’s such a blessing,” he said, according to WKRN’s Emily Proud. “I hope I get a chance to meet him, and me and him become best friends.”

If there’s two things Petit-Frere wants Titans fans to know about, it’s how he works hard and gives maximum effort all game long.

“I want people to see someone who plays every single play like it’s their last play,” he said. “I want them to see effort on the first play of the game, on the last play of the game. That’s the one thing I know I can control every single time. If I am on the field, I want to give all the effort I can.

“That is the one thing I want people to say is: That guy plays hard.”
