Titans’ Julio Jones still not practicing but shows sign of progress

Julio Jones showed a sign of progress in practice on Tuesday.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones has not practiced since Aug. 2 when he landed awkwardly and was deemed to have a minor injury, but in practice on Tuesday he looked to be making progress.

According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, Jones was on the field wearing full gear for the first time in a while (photo below). However, he did not take part in individual drills with the other receivers, but rather did wind sprints instead.

Granted, this isn’t major progress, but it is progress nonetheless.

At this point, it’s tough to tell if Jones is still dealing with an injury or if this is simply the Titans managing his reps. Based on his practice history while with the Atlanta Falcons, it could very well be the latter.

The Titans have their third and final preseason game this Saturday against the Chicago Bears, and head coach Mike Vrabel hinted that he may play more starters in it, even if just for a handful of snaps. We’ll see if he does, and if Jones is one of the players who sees the field.
