Titans’ Hopkins set to join elite company

Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins can join some elite company on Monday Night.

After a slow start to the 2024 campaign coming off a knee injury, Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins bounced back in a big way against the Green Bay Packers. During the Week 3-14 loss, Hopkins was the lone bright spot on offense, pulling in six receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown.

While the offense is still a work in progress, Hopkins coming back to life after being somewhat invisible for the first two weeks of the season will help bring it to life. As he finds his way, he will also be entering rarefied air.

Hopkins sits on the cusp of joining an elite group of NFL wide receivers with at least 900 catches, 12,500 receiving yards and 80 receiving touchdowns. The schedule makers did him a favor, giving him the opportunity to achieve this in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football.

Against the Miami Dolphins on Monday, Hopkins needs only five receiving yards and one touchdown to accomplish this as he moves up the career ranks for receiving. To this point, he has 936 receptions for 12,445 yards and 79 touchdowns in 165 career games.

There are nine Hall of Famers within 13 total receivers to accomplish this feat. Compared to many of those, he can achieve it in a fraction of the games.

A free agent after the 2024 season, the Titans will have a big decision to make on Hopkins and his upward projection for the season and his career will impact that. But, that is in the future. This week, they need him to show under the lights and help propel the team to their first victory of 2024.

Tune in to Monday Night Football and see if Hopkins can join this group when the Titans travel to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Dolphins.
