The USA TODAY 301 weather forecast looks very questionable on Sunday. Will NASCAR race on Sunday and what time could they race on Monday?

The NASCAR Cup Series is ready for the USA TODAY 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but Mother Nature may disagree. The weather forecast in Loudon, New Hampshire, calls for a high of 84° and a 60% chance of rain. Most importantly, there is a “likely” risk of severe weather, with the most significant threat being wind and tornadoes.

As of Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET, the forecast calls for it to start storming around 5:00 p.m. ET. With the USA TODAY 301 green flag being moved up to 2:06 p.m. ET, the possibility of finishing the race or reaching halfway significantly rose. Yet, the weather is unpredictable, as the forecast on Saturday didn’t look great for on-track action.

If NASCAR can start the race at 2:06 p.m. ET, the event could conclude before the weather hits Loudon. If not, the Cup Series would likely be better off racing on Monday. Last year, the Cup Series race at New Hampshire started at Noon ET on Monday in July. Mother Nature is unpredictable, but NASCAR hopes for some luck on Sunday afternoon.
