The most prolific players to wear No. 2 in USC football history

The number twos who have played for USC football are legitimately great players in their own right.

In the latest episode of the Composite Two Star Recruits Podcast, hosts Chris Treviño and Gerard Martinez discussed how incoming USC football pass rusher Isaiah Raikes will don the number two this season for the Trojans. Treviño and Martinez had a spirted debate, but I do agree with Martinez that numbers matter to players — going way back to Pop Warner and youth football.  It’s all about that number.

USC’s No. 2 became available on defense with the departure of Romello Height into the transfer portal. The number will also be available on offense as Brenden Rice enters the 2024 NFL draft.

The No. 2 has a strong history of greatness at USC, going back almost 100 years, but we will focus mainly on the most recent group of deuces before going into the time warp for a special Trojan legend from the Howard Jones era;
