The Cleveland Browns have released veteran wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Several reports indicated the news just as the NFL’s legal tampering period kicked off.

Per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Landry requested his release after the Browns were unable to find a trade partner. Landry had requested a trade in the aftermath of the Browns agreeing to trade for wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys.

Releasing Landry, who has been with the Browns since 2018, will save Cleveland $14.8 million in salary cap room for the 2022 season. He caught a career-low 52 passes for 570 yards and two TDs in 12 games in 2021.
