It is status quo at the top of the newest US LBM Coaches Poll as the top six stayed the same. That includes the Texas Longhorns, who held firm at No. 6.
The Longhorns struggled in Nashville to put away the Vanderbilt Commodores. Texas held on for a 27-24 win.
No. 1 Oregon blasted 20th ranked Illinois 38-9 to stay at the top of the poll for another week. No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs had a bye and didn’t move. No. 3 Penn State handled Wisconsin 28-13, while No. 4 Ohio State needed a late score to overcome Nebraska. No. 5 Miami added to rival Florida State’s woes with a relatively easy 36-14 win.
LSU’s 38-23 loss to Texas A&M at Kyle Field sent the Tigers plummeting down the rankings nine spots from 7th to 16th. Meanwhile, the Aggies jumped three sports to No. 11. Mizzou and Illinois both fell after losses.
