Texas among top schools for 2024 five-star RB Jerrick Gibson

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are hoping to stay hot on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class.

Sarkisian’s 2022 recruiting class finished No. 5 in the country, and Texas currently holds the No. 5 class in the country for the 2023 cycle as well.

In each of those classes, the Longhorns were able to land one of the top running back prospects in the country. Four-star running back Jaydon Blue in 2022 and four-star running back Cedric Baxter Jr. in 2023.

Now, Texas has their sights set on five-star running back Jerrick Gibson from the 2024 class. The Florida native and IMG Academy product is rated the No. 1 running back in the nation for the 2024 class and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports composite.

Gibson released the top 12 schools left in his recruitment on Tuesday. Here’s a look at each program that made the cut.
