Tennessee baseball wins ninth consecutive game in series opener at Georgia.

No. 16 Tennessee (32-14, 12-10 SEC) defeated Georgia (25-21, 8-14 SEC),12-3, Friday at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia.

The win is Tennessee’s ninth consecutive, including seven straight in Southeastern Conference play.

Tennessee has scored 10 or more runs in seven of its last eight games and five of their last six conference contests.

The Vols scored five runs in the seventh inning at Georgia on Friday. Jared Dickey, Blake Burke and Christian Scott hit RBI singles, while Christian Moore hit a two-run home run.

After Georgia pulled to within, 7-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Vols scored five runs in the ninth inning.

Moore hit a solo home run and Zane Denton hit a two-run home run for Tennessee.
