Tennessee is looking to dip back into the Hutchinson Community College talent pool, after extending an offer to running back Tiyon Evans.

Evans played in six games for Hutchinson in 2019, rushing for 538 yards and nine touchdowns on 61 carries, while averaging over eight yards per carry.

At 5-foot-9, 210-pounds, Evans is a bruising back that could add a physical element to a Tennessee backfield that loses three players that will run out of eligibility after 2020 in Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan and Carlin Fils-Aime.

With Maryland listed as the only other program to extend an offer to Evans, Tennessee is hoping to get in on his recruitment early.

The Vols are no strangers to recruiting from Hutchinson Community College, which is located in Hutchinson, Kan. Former Tennessee and current NFL stars Cordarelle Patterson and Alvin Kamara were brought to Knoxville from Hutchinson.

Both players were recruited by different head coaches however, as Derek Dooley signed Patterson and Butch Jones recruited Kamara.
