Tennessee adds quarterback to 2021 roster

Tennessee’s quarterback unit will have an addition following spring practices.

Tennessee will conclude spring practices Saturday with its annual Chevrolet Orange & White Game at Neyland Stadium.

Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. EDT with ESPN+ broadcasting the game.

First-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel’s quarterback unit has featured Harrison Bailey, Hendon Hooker and Brian Maurer competing for the Vols’ starting position.

Junior Michigan signal-caller Joe Milton entered the NCAA transfer portal on Feb. 18. He is now listed in the University of Tennessee directory and being admitted for the summer of 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 243-pound Milton appeared in 14 games for Michigan from 2018-20.

He totaled 1,194 passing yards, five touchdowns, six interceptions, 156 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Heupel offered Milton initially while serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Missouri in 2017.
