The Atlanta Hawks (2-2) welcome the Washington Wizards (1-2) to State Farm Arena Wednesday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Atlanta won 3 of 4 games last season

The Hawks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-113 Monday for their 1st home win and 2nd cover of the season, closing as a 2.5-point favorite. Atlanta is 2-2 against the spread (ATS) and is on a 2-game win and cover streak. The Hawks are led by G Dejounte Murray, who is averaging 21.3 points per game.

The Wizards lost to the Boston Celtics 126-107 Monday, failing to cover as a 10.5-point home underdog. Washington is 1-2 straight up and ATS this season and is 2-1 O/U. The Wizards are led by F Kyle Kuzma, who is averaging 22.3 points per game.

Wizards at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 123, Wizards 118

Moneyline

PASS.

Both of the Wizards’ loses have come by 15-plus points and they are 0-1 on the road. Washington doesn’t have the depth to keep pace with Atlanta and are a rightful underdog, but given the values on the moneyline, neither play gives great odds to back here.

Against the spread

BET WIZARDS +8.5 (-110).

The Hawks may be 2-2 ATS on the season, but they aren’t playing great basketball. Young, who has been the team’s consistent star the last few seasons, is shooting just 31% from the field, and he’s a liability on the defensive end as well.

The Hawks rank 23rd in defensive rating and may struggle keeping Washington at bay long enough to cover. Atlanta was just 19-25 ATS at home last season. The Wizards have scored at least 107 in every game and should have the firepower to keep with a potent Hawks attack.

Back WIZARDS +8.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 238.5 (-110).

There’s no reason to believe defense will be played in this game. The Wizards rank 23rd and the Wizards rank 29th in defensive rating.

The Wizards gave up 143 in their lone road game and have given up 125-plus points in 2 of 3 games. Similarly, Atlanta has scored 127 in back-to-back games and given up at least 110 in each game this season.

Expect an offensive onslaught and take OVER 238.5 (-110).

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (40-39) will host the Washington Wizards (34-45) on Wednesday night in a critical game for their postseason positioning. The Hawks are still alive for a playoff berth instead of a play-in spot, so every game matters. Tip-off from State Farm Arena will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards are out of playoff contention and have their last 3 games, going 2-8 in their last 10 to fall 9 games below .500. Despite their recent losing streak, the Wizards have covered the spread in 3 of their last 4 and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games. Their most recent win was a stunning 130-111 upset of the Boston Celtics on March 28, easily covering the spread as 10.5-point underdogs.

The Hawks are 3 games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the final playoff spot in the East. They’ve won 3 of their last 4 games, but are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 contests. They’re coming off a 123-105 road win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night and are currently riding a 2-game winning streak.

Wizards at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 122, Wizards 113

Moneyline

Even with how poorly the Wizards have played this year, there’s no chance I’m willing to lay a bet on the Hawks at -600 on the money line. There’s just not nearly enough reward for the risk with a line that steep.

PASS.

Against the spread

When the Hawks are favored by 10-12 points, they’re just 1-3 ATS, according to Covers. In their last 4 games as underdogs of at least 10 points, the Wizards are an impressive 3-0-1 ATS, covering against the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Celtics.

With Young and Hunter potentially out for the Hawks, I like the WIZARDS +10.5 (-105) to cover the spread on the road.

Over/Under

Even though the total has only gone Over in 3 of the Hawks’ last 10 games, the Over is still 43-35-1 in Atlanta’s games this season. The Over is 6-4 in the Wizards’ last 10 games and has hit in 3 of their last 4.

Even with Young and Hunter uncertain, the Hawks rank 10th in the NBA in pace so this should be a higher-scoring game, especially against a Wizards team that ranks 20th in defensive rating. Bet OVER 233.5 (-110).

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (28-32) and Atlanta Hawks (31-30) meet Tuesday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards failed to cover the spread as 5.5-point underdogs Sunday in a 102-82 loss at the Chicago Bulls. G Bradley Beal scored a team-high 18 points for the Wizards, who have lost back-to-back games. Washington is 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in its last 10 road games.

The Hawks failed to cover as 6.5-point home favorites Sunday in a 129-127 win vs. the Brooklyn Nets. G Trae Young finished with a game-high 34 points as Atlanta improved to 4-1 in its last 5 home games. The Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous contest.

Atlanta took last season’s series 3-1 as the Over connected in 3 of the 4 games. The Hawks covered as 10.5-point home favorites with a 118-103 win as the Under (235) cashed in the most recent meeting April 6.

Wizards at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 115, Wizards 114

Moneyline

PASS.

The Hawks (-270) should win, but they are being a little overvalued on the moneyline. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET WIZARDS +6.5 (+100).

Atlanta is just 16-35 ATS in its last 51 games after a win. Washington should be able to bounce back and keep it close after a disappointing loss at Chicago, while Atlanta almost blew an 18-point lead vs. Brooklyn and was somewhat lucky to salvage the win.

The Hawks are just 10-14 ATS as home favorites this season and should struggle to win by margin vs. the Wizards.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 235.5 (-115).

The Under is 4-0 in Washington’s last 4 games and 6-2 in the Wizards’ last 8 on the road. The Under has hit in 8 of Atlanta’s last 11 games after failing to cover in its previous contest and is 7-3-1 in Washington’s last 11 after a loss by more than 10 points.

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (35-44) visit State Farm Arena Wednesday to take on the Atlanta Hawks (41-38). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Wizards vs. Hawks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Wizards, who are eliminated from playoff and play-in tournament contention, are coming off a 132-114 road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves as 12-point underdogs.

Washington scored more than 30 points in each quarter. Three players scored over 20 points and seven were in double figures. The motivation is still there for a Wizards team that is 5-2 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) over its last seven outings. Washington is 32-45-2 ATS this season.

The motivation will also be there for Atlanta as it is tied with the Brooklyn Nets for the play-in tournament but sits 9th due to a tiebreaker.

The Hawks are 5-1 ATS across their last six games but had a five-game cover streak snapped as they failed to cover a 4point spread in a 118-108 road loss to the Toronto Raptors Tuesday. Atlanta is led by G Trae Young, who is averaging 28.2 points and 9.7 assists per game.

Wizards at Hawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 119, Wizards 115

Money line

PASS.

This money line doesn’t make much sense to play unless you like the Wizards. While they are coming off a big-time win over the Timberwolves, I still wouldn’t back them as the Hawks also have something to play for.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET the WIZARDS +10.5 (-110).

Washington proved against Minnesota that it is going to continue to compete at a high level despite being eliminated from contention. F Rui Hachimura has taken a step into the spotlight as the team’s top playmaker, averaging 16 points per game and shooting 52.5% over his last five outings.

The Hawks’ defense has been atrocious as of late, allowing 115 or more points in three of their last four games, and they’ll be down a key big man and scorer with Collins still sidelined.

Atlanta is giving high minutes to several players, having Young on the court for 37 minutes last night against Toronto. The Hawks are 5-10 ATS when playing on no rest, tied for the fourth-worst covering percentage without rest in the NBA.

While it’s hard to cap the motivation here, both teams should be primed to battle, and I expect a close result.

Over/Under

PASS with a lean to the Over 233.5 (-112).

This total is a little high for me to suggest playing, but both teams rank inside the top 10 in offensive rating over their last five games while also ranking outside the top 10 in defensive rating.

They also rank sixth (Hawks) and 17th (Wizards) in pace over that span as well. I’d prefer the Over, but I’d play Washington’s spread here.

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

After squaring off Monday night, the Washington Wizards (32-37) and Atlanta Hawks (38-31) will battle once again Wednesday. Tip-off at State Farm Arena will be at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wizards-Hawks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards have a chance to clinch a spot in the play-in tournament Wednesday with a win over the Hawks. They’re currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference and are three games ahead of the 11th-place Chicago Bulls. Washington fell by a 125-124  to the Hawks Monday, snapping a two-game winning streak.

The Hawks already clinched a playoff berth and are fourth in the Eastern Conference, owning the same record as the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. They’re three games ahead of the Boston Celtics, who are currently seventh.

Atlanta won four of its last five games and scored at least 123 points in each of its last four.

Wizards at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hawks 123, Wizards 120

Money line (ML)

The Hawks have played well over their last five games, winning four of them and covering the spread three times. They have clinched a playoff berth so resting players is a possibility, but their seed can range from No. 4 to 6 depending on how they finish the year.

I like the Hawks to win this one outright, but I’m going to PASS on the money line because I think it’ll be close.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Incredibly, the Wizards are 13-3-1 ATS over their last 17 games, including an impressive stretch of 6-1-1 in their last eight. They won’t have Beal but PG Russell Westbrook is on a tear and is averaging a triple-double.

With Washington being the underdog, I’m taking the points. Bet the WIZARDS +6.5 (-110) to cover the spread again.

Over/Under (O/U)

In each of the Wizards’ last six games, the total has gone Over. Tonight’s line is on the higher side, predictably, with Washington scoring at least 124 points in each of its last six games and the Hawks lighting it up with at least 123 points scored in each of their last four.

Bet the OVER 238.5 (-110) despite Beal and Hunter being out.

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Atlanta Hawks (37-31) host the Washington Wizards (32-36) Monday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wizards-Hawks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Washington has won back-to-back games and seven of the last 10 (7-2-1 against the spread) and the three losses were by a combined five points.

The Wizards’ two victories over the Indiana Pacers last week propelled them to ninth in the Eastern Conference and are 1 game back of the 8-seed Charlotte Hornets.

Seeds 7-10 participate in the postseason play-in tournament but the seventh- and eighth-place teams need to win one game while seeds nine and 10 need to win two straight.

Atlanta had its three-game winning streak snapped in a 133-126 road loss to the Pacers and is 5-5 overall in the last 10 games (5-5 ATS).

The 5-seed Hawks are ahead of the Miami Heat because of a tiebreaker and 2 games in front of the 7-seed Boston Celtics.

Atlanta smoked Washington in the first meeting this season 116-100 as 3-point road favorites.

Wizards at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hawks 129, Wizards 119

Money line (ML)

PASS because Atlanta beat Washington pretty comfortably in the first meeting and the Wizards had both Beal and Russell Westbrook in the starting 5.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the HAWKS -7.5 (-110) for 1 unit because Atlanta has the edge in the frontcourt, backcourt, and a couple of “strength vs. weakness” factors are in Atlanta’s favor.

For instance, Trae Young has played very well against Westbrook in their four career meetings. Young is averaging 27.8 points per game on .485/.467/.868 shooting with 7.8 assists per game in those contests.

One of the main pillars of Young’s game is his ability to get to the foul line, which is an area of weakness for Washington.

In fact, the Wizards have the third-highest defensive FTA/FG rate and the Hawks are second in FTA/FG rate as a team.

Also, C Clint Capela has been a dominant rebounding and shot-blocking force in the middle for the Hawks this season. Capela leads the Association in rebounding rate, which is a big reason Atlanta scores the fourth-most second-chance points per game.

On the other side, Washington is 23rd in second-chance points allowed per game and 20th in defensive rebounding rate.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 236.5 (-110) for a half unit since I believe Beal’s absence gives the Over a little value.

Washington should play less half-court offense with Beal sidelined and more uptempo to keep up with Atlanta’s offense. The Wizards already play at the fastest pace in the league and give up the most points per game.

Also, it’s telling that this Wizards-Hawks total is 236.5, the previous meeting’s total was 235.5 and, with both teams fully healthy, it went Under by 19 points. Bookmakers see the pace picking up this time around and the pace is the biggest factor in scoring.
