Baylor vs Texas How To Watch

Why Baylor Will Win

The combination of a balanced offense and decent enough run defense might be enough to pull this off.

The Bears might have stalled in the 31-3 loss to Kansas State, but they came back to push TCU to the brink in last week’s crazy 29-28 loss on a walk-off field goal. Even so, the O continues to be great on third downs to keep everything moving.

Baylor is terrific at dominating the clock – it did that against TCU and keeps the ball for over 32 minutes. Texas doesn’t care about the time of possession battle and will probably lose by well over five minutes.

And then there’s the run defense. Texas is 4-0 when running for more than 205 yards and 3-4 when it doesn’t. More to the point, the three wins when the running game didn’t rock came against teams that aren’t going bowling.

Baylor allowed more than 205 rushing yards just twice so far, but …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Texas Will Win

Yeah, that Bijan Robinson guy is pretty good.

He was stuffed by TCU for 29 yards, and came back roaring with 243 yards and four scores in what seemed like just a few minutes in the blowout win over Kansas last week. That was his second 200-yard game in the last three and his eighth with over 100 yards in his last nine.

Baylor’s defense was amazing against the run over the first half of the season, but it had a few issues in Big 12 play allowing over four yards per carry in each of the last four games. It’s also 2-4 this season when giving up over three yards per run.

Alabama and TCU. Those are the only two teams to hold Texas to under three yards per carry.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

Texas will play in the Big 12 Championship with a win and a Kansas State loss to Kansas. It’ll take care of the first part of that itself.

Baylor will once again be dangerous, but it’ll struggle defensively late as the Longhorn passing game does enough to balance out the attack – the Bear D will sell out to stop Robinson.

Baylor is 1-5 when allowing more than 24 points. Texas was held to under 24 by – again – Alabama and TCU.

Boise State vs Utah State How To Watch

Game Time: 12:00 ET
Venue: Albertsons Stadium, Boise, ID
How To Watch: CBS
Record: Boise State (8-3), Utah State (6-5)

Why Utah State Will Win

Will Boise State care?

Of course it would like to win on Senior Day, and of course it wants to keep the momentum going with six straight Mountain West wins and two victories in a row after the loss to BYU, but it has the Mountain West title game against Fresno State next week.

This isn’t even the team’s last home game – the championship is being played in Albertsons.

Utah State completely turned its season around after starting 1-5. It’s on a nice 5-1 run, it’s bowl eligible, and it’s all coming from the offense with a good balance and a defense that’s forcing enough takeaways to get by. However …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Boise State Will Win

It also helped Utah State that it played New Mexico, Hawaii, and Colorado State in this run. Give it credit for taking down San Jose State and Air Force, but both of those were at home.

Again, the defense hasn’t been bad, but it’s been rocky against the run allowing almost five yards per carry. Now it gets a rolling Boise State running game that’s ripping though just about everything.

The Broncos are 6-0 when running for 130 yards or more. Utah State gives up close to 200 yards per game.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

You’ll have to forgive Boise State if it wants to get this over with and move on as quickly as possible. Being on Friday morning should make this even weirder.

Utah State will come out fired up to make a statement on a national stage – getting to seven wins would be a big deal considering how many bowl eligible Mountain West teams there are – but the Boise State defense will clamp down hard in the second half.

Call it a tone-setting mindset for what’s coming next.

Tulane vs Cincinnati How To Watch

Date: Friday, November 25
Game Time: 12:00 ET
Venue: Nippert Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
How To Watch: ABC
Record: Tulane (9-2), Cincinnati (9-2)
Sign up and live stream college football on ESPN+

Why Tulane Will Win

The running game continues to be amazing.

The Green Wave style of attack does a brilliant job of getting their backs into wide open spaces to come up with big, gashing runs, and now it’s up to Tyjae Spears and QB Michael Pratt to do just enough to keep the Cincinnati defense working.

The Bearcats are solid against the run, but they’ve ben hit for 174 rushing yards or more in four of the last six games. It starts with Tulane trying to set the tone with the ground game, and then it’s up to the defense that’s got a crazy way of being feast-or-famine with takeaways.

There were five takeaways last week against SMU, four against Memphis and two more more in five games. All Tulane needs is one – it’s 7-0 when it forces a turnover, but …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Cincinnati Will Win

Cincinnati went turnover-free in three of the last four games.

On a roll with three straight wins and in nine of the last ten games, the team has one of the nation’s most disruptive defenses, the offense is consistent through the air, and it figured out its style.

Rely on the defense and great punting game, keep the chains moving just enough to come through when absolutely needed, and rely on the defense some more.

It’s a team that knows how to win. There might be a whole lot of flaws, but keep the score low, get the win.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

Cincinnati is 2-2 when allowing more than 24 points and 7-0 when it allows fewer points. It’s also 5-0 at home.

Tulane has scored fewer than 24 points just once – but that was in the 17-10 win over Kansas State.

The winner is playing for the American Athletic Conference Championship, and the loser has a shot of getting there if UCF loses to USF.

So, most likely, the winner is in, the loser is out.

Cincinnati’s defense will be just a little bit better than Tulane’s offense.

Brian Kelly says youth has limited talented Texas A&M team in 2022

The Aggies have one of the most talented rosters in the country, but they’ve still struggled quite a bit this season.

Jimbo Fisher signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country last season. Adding those guys along with the talent he already had, and some experts predicted Texas A&M may make the college football playoffs for the first time ever.

Unfortunately for Fisher, that isn’t how the cookie crumbled. This has been a rough year for the Aggies as they currently are 4-7 overall and currently have the worst record in conference play of any SEC team at 1-6.

A team that some expected to win the league is now ranked behind Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Auburn. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] said that Texas A&M will be one of the most talented teams LSU has seen this season, but it has been limited by its youth.

“It’s a young football team, it’s a very talented football team, but it’s young,”

The Tigers will take on the Aggies Saturday night in College Station, Texas. Even though they are 4-7, LSU can’t overlook A&M and look ahead to Georgia because Jimbo can ruin the Tigers’ playoff hopes.

Spread vs. Texas A&M grows in LSU’s favor per BetMGM

The Tigers are now a 10-point favorite, per BetMGM.

The Tigers will be heavy favorites against 4-7 Texas A&M on Saturday. Despite the game being in College Station, the Aggies are the only team in the SEC to clinch a losing season and ended a six-game skid with an uninspiring win over UMass last week.

It’s not surprising that the oddsmakers like LSU in this one, and it opened as a 9.5-point favorite. As of 2:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, that line has moved slightly in the Tigers’ favor again as they are now a 10-point favorite, per the latest odds from BetMGM.

Here’s how things stand at the midpoint of the week. The money line remains unchanged, but the over/under increased by one point.

Team Spread Total – O/U Money Line
LSU -10
-110
O 47.5
-110
-350
Texas A&M +10
-110
U 47.5
-110
+275

If LSU takes care of business in this one and can upset Georgia in the SEC Championship, it will likely become the first two-loss team to make it to the College Football Playoff. First thing’s first, though: The Tigers need to avoid a letdown against an Aggies team looking to play spoiler.

Five things to know about Texas A&M ahead of regular-season finale

Here are five things to know about the struggling Texas A&M Aggies

LSU will face Texas A&M on Saturday to put a bow on its division and conference slate.

The two programs enter the contest trending in opposite directions, with LSU fresh off an SEC West title and the Aggies just ending their longest losing streak in 50 years. LSU hasn’t won in College Station since 2016, dropping its last two trips, including the seven overtime loss in 2018.

The programs most recently met in Baton Rouge last year. It was Ed Orgeron’s last game at LSU and featured a game-winning touchdown catch by [autotag]Jaray Jenkins[/autotag].

A win for LSU would move the Tigers to 10-2 and keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive — setting up a showdown with the Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta.

Here are five things to know about the Texas A&M Aggies.

How To Watch: ESPN+
Record: Ball State (5-6), Miami University (5-6)

Why Ball State Will Win

The Ball State offensive line has to take over early.

It’s doing a decent enough job for the ground game – averaging close to five yards per carry over the last three weeks – and it’s fantastic at keeping defenses out of the backfield.

Miami University has the No. 1 run defense in the MAC, but that doesn’t mean Ball State shouldn’t try plowing away.

The RedHawks are 1-4 when allowing more than 110 rushing yards and 4-2 when they don’t. Ball State has been able to pus past 110 yards in five of the last six games, but …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Miami University Will Win

The Ball State defense isn’t coming up with enough key stops.

It’s consistently mediocre against the run, it’s not coming up with enough takeaways, and it’s just okay on third downs. It’s hardly awful – it allowed 21 points or fewer in four of the last six games – but it won’t come up with the big takeaways.

Miami University’s offense is struggling, but it doesn’t turn it over enough to matter – the two giveaways against Northern Illinois marked just the second time all year there were multiple turnovers – and it’ll be more than happy to make this a low-scoring fight.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

This is about one more game.

This is about the swag bag, the free vacation, and one more game of football with the winner becoming bowl eligible and the loser is done.

Ball State’s offense is just a little bit better and Miami’s offense struggles way too much to score.

The Redhawks are 1-6 when scoring fewer than 21 points, but their defense has held down most of the mediocre attacks. Ball State will slip by with the running of Carson Steele taking over late.

Mississippi State vs Ole Miss How To Watch

Game Time: 7:00 ET
Venue: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, OH
How To Watch: ESPN
Record: Mississippi State (7-4), Ole Miss (8-3)
Sign up and live stream college football on ESPN+

Why Mississippi State Will Win

The Ole Miss defense fell off the map over the second half of the season.

LSU ran all over it, Texas A&M was able to throw against it, and Arkansas did whatever it wanted against Rebel front that couldn’t hold up against the run and couldn’t stop the midrange passes.

Mississippi State has hardly been perfect, and it hasn’t been able to impose its will through the air like it’s supposed to, but QB Will Rogers should get plenty of time to work, the short throws will be there, and the running game might contribute to the effort, too.

The Bulldog ground game might be the second-worst in the country yardage-wise, but the team is 5-0 when averaging at least four yards per carry.

Ole Miss allows 4.3 yards per pop, but …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Ole Miss Will Win

Here comes the Rebel running game.

The Mississippi State defensive front has been decent. but it’s about to deal with a backfield that rips off yards in big, giant chunks. Turnovers were the problem against Arkansas, but the offense averaged almost nine yards per carry on the way to 463 yards on the ground.

Clock control isn’t part of the plan for the Ole Miss attack, but it’ll move fast, average over five yards per carry, and it’ll make Mississippi State press a bit. That’s when the mistakes have to be forced.

Because of its style, every possession without a mistake matters for the Rebels. They’ve only turned it over more than once in three games – the Arkansas loss being one of them – and on the other side Mississippi State is 3-0 when coming up with three or more takeaways and 5-2 when generating two or more.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

The Mississippi State defense held up reasonably well in the 31-21 loss in last year’s Egg Bowl, but it couldn’t come up with enough good third down stops. That’s about to be the problem again.

The Ole Miss running style isn’t just about coming up with big yards; it’s about setting up easy chances to move the chains.

The Ole Miss offense is great on third downs. The Mississippi State offense – stunningly, considering what it does – isn’t.

Mississippi State is 6-1 at home – the one loss coming to Georgia – and 1-3 on the road. Ole Miss is 5-1 at home – the one loss coming to Alabama – and 3-2 on the road.

The Rebels make it three in a row in the series.

Bowling Green vs Ohio How To Watch

Game Time: 7:00 ET
Venue: Peden Stadium, Athens, OH
How To Watch: ESPNU
Record: Bowling Green (6-5), Ohio (8-2)

Why Bowling Green Will Win

Just when it seemed like the Falcons were going to fizzle out after a blowout loss to Kent State, they rose up and rocked Toledo last week with a huge day from the passing attack in the 42-35 win.

Matt McDonald threw for 395 yards and four scores with the big plays there for the taking down the field, and now it’s up to the Ohio defense to stop it all.

The Bobcat defense has been a problem, especially against the teams that can throw. The team is 5-0 when allowing fewer than 300 yards and 3-3 when it gives up that many or more, but …

Bowl Projections | Bowl Bubble: Who’s Bowl Eligible?

Why Ohio Will Win

The Ohio offense is going to roll.

The Bowling Green offense is hit-or-miss. It’s okay overall, but the passing game is hardly consistency with too many short range throws that don’t go anywhere. That wasn’t the case against Toledo, and the Bobcat defense is going to give up big plays, too, but the O should make up for it.

Ohio has won six straight with the most efficient passing game in the MAC averaging over 300 yards per outing, and there aren’t enough mistakes to matter.

Bowling Green could use some takeaways, but Ohio has gone turnover-free six times all year and hasn’t had any real turnover problems.

Week 13 College Football Schedule, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

Okay, so here’s the deal.

Ohio wins the MAC East with a win. Bowling Green wins the MAC East with a win and if Buffalo loses to Kent State. Buffalo – even though the game against Akron last week was cancelled-without-really-being-cancelled wins the division if it beats Kent State and Bowling Green loses this.

Basically, both teams need to try.

Ohio – 5-0 in Athens – will get more out of its offense, and the defense will keep from breaking after a whole lot of bending.

LSU at Texas A&M: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet for regular season finale

The Tigers opened as more than a touchdown favorite on the road against the Aggies.

It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the final week of the regular season.

LSU has an SEC West title in Year 1 under [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] to be thankful for this season, but the Tigers have their eye set on a bigger prize. If this team can win out, it will likely be the first two-loss team to make the College Football Playoff.

Doing so would entail upsetting Georgia in the SEC Championship, but first, LSU needs to get past a road trip against Texas A&M. The Aggies have had a rough season and sit at 4-7, though they snapped a six-game losing streak last week with a home win over UMass, albeit a somewhat shaky one.

LSU travels to College Station on Saturday night for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff. We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.
