NBA Twitter reacts to Saddiq Bey’s stunning buzzer beater to snap Warriors’ win streak

After Saddiq Bey stunned the Warriors to snap their win streak with a deep jumper at the final buzzer, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions.

With the Golden State Warriors trailing the Detroit Pistons by three points as the clock ticked down in the fourth quarter, Klay Thompson drilled a game-tying triple following a smoothly executed after the timeout inbound play call from Steve Kerr.

With one second left on the clock and the game tied, the Warriors looked like they were headed into their second consecutive overtime game. However, Saddiq Bey and the Pistons had one final haymaker left in the tank.

As the clock hit zero, Bey stunned the Chase Center crowd in San Francisco with a ridiculous turnaround jumper from way beyond the arc to win the game for the Pistons and snap the Warriors’ six-game winning streak.

After the Warriors’ road trip started with a pair of losses to the Hornets and Pistons, NBA Twitter chimed in with different reactions.

After starting their five-game road swing with an upset loss to the Charlotte Hornets in overtime on Saturday, the Golden State Warriors couldn’t dwell for long with the second leg of a back-to-back against the Detroit Pistons coming on Sunday.

Steph Curry added 32 points on 10-of-24 shooting from the field with four triples, six boards and three assists.

Cade Cunningham was just one assist shy of a triple-double, registering 23 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Warriors vs. Pistons Notebook: Andrew Wiggins helps close road trip with win in Detroit, 116-106

Andrew Wiggins caught fire in the fourth quarter to close out the Golden State Warriors road trip with a win against the Detroit Pistons.

After starting the season with a pair of blowout losses and a game that came down to the final shot, the Golden State Warriors produced their best performance of the season with a victory against the Detroit Pistons.

Although early offensive rebounding gave the Pistons a lead at halftime, the Warriors rallied in the second half behind the play of Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry.

On the final game of their four-stop road trip, Golden State’s defense tightened in Detroit, holding the Pistons to 38% from the field and 37.1% from beyond the arc. Similar to Golden State’s defensive effort, the offense looked smooth against the Pistons. The Warriors pushed the pace in the open court and knocked down shots consistently, shooting 50% from the field and 42.4% from long distance.

Following Golden State’s 116-106 win over Detroit, the Warriors will have a positive flight home, splitting their four-game opening road trip with a 2-2 record.

On Friday, the Warriors will begin a seven-game homestand with a tilt against the Portland Trail Blazers. During Golden State’s stretch of games at Chase Center, Draymond Green could make his 2020-21 debut after missing the start of the season with a foot injury.

Here are four notes from the Warriors’ 116-106 win over the Pistons.

After dropping their first two games in blowout fashion to the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, Lee drilled a deep triple with five seconds remaining against the Chicago Bulls to give the Warriors their first win of the 2020-21 campaign. Along with Lee’s much-needed game-winner, Steph Curry looks like he’s finding his rhythm, scoring a season-high 36 points in Chicago.

Before the Warriors return to San Francisco’s Chase Center for a seven-game homestand, Steve Kerr’s squad can split their road trip with a win against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.

Standing in Golden State’s way of a positive flight home is Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose. Along with a couple of former All-Stars, the Warriors’ tilt with the Pistons will feature a handful of first-round picks from the 2020 draft, including James Wiseman, Killian Hayes and Saddiq Bey.
