Watch: Rookie Quinten Post slams two-handed dunk in Summer League vs. Heat

In his second Summer League game, the rookie big man slammed an emphatic dunk against the Heat.

After making his highly-anticipated debut in the Summer League on Friday off the bench, the Golden State Warriors only draft pick from 2024, Quinten Post, made his first start in the Summer League semifinals on Sunday against the Miami Heat.

Post followed his 10-point performance in his debut with another solid 10-point effort on Sunday. In 15 minutes, the Boston College product tallied 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field to go along with two boards and two assists in Golden State’s loss to Miami in Las Vegas.

Before the Warriors Summer League campaign ended, Post added a clip to his early-stage highlight reel. In the third quarter, Pat Spencer dished the rookie a crafty pass before he emphatically slammed down a two-handed dunk.

Warriors’ undefeated run in Summer League comes to end with loss vs. Heat

The Warriors undefeated run in the Summer League came to an end on Sunday with a loss to the Miami Heat in the semi-finals.

After ripping off seven straight wins from the California Classic to Las Vegas, the Golden State Warriors’ undefeated run came to an end on Sunday against the Miami Heat.

With a spot in the Summer League championship game on the line, the Heat were able to put the Warriors away in a back-and-forth contest that featured a thrilling fourth quarter.

Kevin Knox II took over for the Warriors, scoring a game-high 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field with five made three-pointers in 30 minutes before fouling out. Knox added 11 rebounds and two assists to complete an impressive double-double performance.

Yuri Collins, Santiago Vescovi, Quinten Post and Pat Spencer all added 10 or more points, but it wasn’t enough as the Heat rallied to a 102-99 win.

Daeqwon Plowden uncharacteristically struggled for the first time in the Summer League with the Warriors, scoring only five points on 0-for-7 shooting from the field. Plowden had a chance to cut Miami’s advantage to only one with just seconds remaining after he was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer. However, Plowden missed a crucial free throw.

In his second Summer League game, rookie big man Quinten Post recorded his second-straight game with 10 points. The No. 52 overall pick from the 2024 NBA draft went 3-of-4 from the field with two rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors dropping another loss on the road vs. Heat on Tuesday

After the Warriors dropped another loss on the road on Tuesday against the Heat, NBA Twitter fired away with different reactions.

Through the first three-quarters of Tuesday’s contest in South Beach, signs pointed toward the Golden State Warriors snapping their losing streak and securing their first road win of the 2022-23 season with a win over the Miami Heat.

Fueled by Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Warriors took a commanding lead over the Heat with a solid third-quarter run. Curry and Thompson combined for 19 points in the third quarter to give the Warriors an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

However, Golden State’s offense went cold in the final frame. The Heat registered a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter. With each team trading buckets, Cury had a chance to tie the game with a 3-pointer with under two minutes remaining. Curry missed the jumper but appeared to be fouled by Jimmy Butler on the attempt. After Erik Spoelstra challenged the call, Curry never made it to the line due to the foul being overturned.

Following the challenge, the Warriors had no answer for Butler and the Heat. After a pair of missed triples from Thompson, Butler drilled a dagger midrange jumper to seal the game for the Heat. Miami outscored Golden State 30-15 in the final 12 minutes.

Although it wasn’t enough to beat the Heat, Curry recorded his first triple-double of the 2022-23 season with 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor with 13 assists and 13 rebounds in 35 minutes.

With a 116-109 loss to the Heat, the Warriors are still winless on the road for the 2022-23 season.

After Golden State’s losing streak fell to three straight, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday evening.

NBA Twitter reacts to Jordan Poole leading shorthanded Warriors to upset win vs. Heat

After Jordan Poole dropped 30 points to lead the shorthanded Warriors to an upset road win over the Heat, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions.

On the second leg of a back-to-back, the Golden State Warriors made the decision to rest Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Otto Porter Jr. The trio of veterans added to the absence of Steph Curry, Andre Iguodala and Andre Iguodala.

Without several key core pieces, the Warriors needed to lean on Jordan Poole for any chance of an upset against the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old guard answered the bell.

After the Warriors were able to keep the game tied through two quarters, Poole helped fuel a 19-0 run to start the third quarter. While the Heat were able to chip away at the Warriors’ lead throughout the second half, Poole, Damion Lee and Andrew Wiggins seemed to always have an answer in South Beach.

For his 11th consecutive game with over 20 points, Poole dropped a game-high 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting with seven triples, nine assists and four rebounds in 39 minutes.

Lee added 22 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with six boards and three assists in 31 minutes off the bench. Wiggins tacked on another 22 points, including a late flurry to help close out the Heat, 118-104.
