Steph Curry exits game vs. Bulls after rolling ankle

The Warriors All-Star point guard exited Thursday’s game against the Bulls in the fourth quarter after rolling his ankle.

On the way to dropping a rough loss to the Chicago Bulls at home on Thursday night, Golden State Warriors All-Star point guard Steph Curry exited the game with an apparent ankle injury.

Late in the fourth quarter, Curry appeared to roll his ankle. He attempted to jog down the court, but quickly exited the game. Curry later left the court for the locker room.

Without Curry, the Warriors didn’t have an answer for DeMar DeRozan down the stretch in a 125-122 loss to the Bulls.

Following the game, Steve Kerr didn’t provide clarity on Curry’s potential injury. Kerr told reporters he doesn’t know the severity of the injury and that Curry was icing his foot postgame.

Prior to leaving the game, Curry tallied 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field with three rebounds in 29 minutes against the Bulls.

After giving up 75 points to the Chicago Bulls through the first two quarters, it looked like the Golden State Warriors were headed towards their third consecutive loss. However, Klay Thompson came to the rescue in the third quarter on Friday night.

Coming out of halftime, Thompson caught fire, scoring 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field with five made 3-pointers in the third quarter alone. Behind Thompson’s red-hot shooting, the Warriors outscored the Bulls 48-20 in the third quarter to take a 15-point lead heading into the final frame.

While the Bulls attempted a late swing of their own, Steph Curry and Thompson were able to hold off DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine down the stretch to secure a much-needed 140-131 win in Chicago.

Thompson notched a team-high 30 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field with seven made 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Bulls. His fellow Splash Brother, Curry, added 27 points with six made 3-pointers.

Jonathan Kuminga thrived off the bench, scoring 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field with five rebounds in 24 minutes.

After the Bulls secured a victory over the Warriors behind a career-high 43 points from Nikola Vucevic, NBA Twitter responded with different reactions.

After starting their road swing with a blowout victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, the Golden State Warriors’ struggles on the road returned on Sunday afternoon against Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls quickly stole the lead in the first quarter, jumping to a 15-point lead. After a slow start, the Warriors’ offense woke up in the second quarter to cut into Chicago’s advantage, but the second-quarter spark wasn’t enough to fuel a comeback on the road. 

Nikola Vucevic matched a career-high with 43 points on 18-of-31 shooting from the field with five triples to go along with 13 boards and four assists in 39 minutes as the Bulls handed the Warriors a 132-118 loss during Sunday’s matinee. 

Zach LaVine added 27 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the floor with nine rebounds and six assists in 40 minutes for the Bulls. 

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 26 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field with eight made triples, four rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes.

Steph Curry notched 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting with 10 boards and four assists to secure a double-double. However, Curry was responsible for eight of Golden State’s 23 turnovers against the Bulls.

With Sunday’s loss in Chicago, the Warriors’ road record has fallen to 4-17 for the 2022-23 NBA season.

After Jordan Poole caught fire from long distance for seven triples in a win against the Bulls, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions on Friday night.

After a tough loss to the Dallas Mavericks to snap their three-game winning streak, the Golden State Warriors returned to San Francisco’s Chase Center for some home cooking against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night. 

Despite a late attempt at a comeback by the Bulls, the Warriors slammed the door behind Jordan Poole. The 23-year-old guard exploded off the bench, registering his third 30-point performance of the 2022-23 campaign.

Poole led the Warriors with a game-high 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field to go along with an assist, steal and rebound in only 23 minutes. Poole caught fire from beyond the arc, drilling a season-high seven triples from long distance.

Draymond Green recorded a near triple-double with 13 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes as the Warriors secured a 119-111 victory. 

With their win over the Bulls, the Warriors have now cracked off nine consecutive wins at home. Golden State will have another chance to extend their home winning streak on the second leg of a back-to-back on Saturday against the Houston Rockets.

After the Warriors snapped their losing slide with a blowout win over the Bulls behind an impressive performance from rookie Jonathan Kuminga, NBA Twitter heated up with a flurry of reactions.

On Thursday, the Golden State Warriors recorded an ugly performance in a massive blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Then, just one day later in the second leg of a road back-to-back against the Eastern Conference-leading Chicago Bulls, the Warriors looked like a different team.

The Warriors snapped their recent offensive slump with an explosive performance against the Bulls.

Andrew Wiggins dropped 20 of his 21 points in the first half to set the Warriros up with a 31 point lead before halftime. With the Warriors’ offense clicking early, Jordan Poole, Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga all registered double-figures in scoring in the first half.
