Eagles GM Howie Roseman gives a preview of his virtual NFL Draft setup from home

Eagles GM Howie Roseman provides a preview of his virtual NFL Draft setup

The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman have been preparing for this NFL Draft and the virtual setup should be a breeze thanks to some great work by the organization’s IT team.

Roseman recently admitted that he had the Eagles IT team hook his home office up in a fashion similar to his work setup at the NovaCare Complex.

The Eagles were hopefully ahead of the curve and today during an appearance on ESPN’s NFL Live, Roseman gave a preview of his living room war-room, courtesy of a video from 6ABC’s Mark Meany.

Roseman has a screen for pro days, a live draft tracker, and a big board for the offensive and defensive players.

Roseman has a phone set up in his office with a camera to ensure that he complies with league rules as well.

He has a television set up to watch the draft and an area for his post pick and post-draft press conferences.

The Eagles currently hold the No. 21 overall pick in the first round and Roseman could look to move up or back in the draft as things shake out.

It’s a weird world for Bucs WR Mike Evans

With the coronavirus pandemic putting sports on hold, offseason schedules for many NFL players are out of sync.

The 2020 NFL draft is this week, but due to the coronavirus pandemic we won’t get to see it in all its glory in Las Vegas, as was originally planned. Instead, teams will participate in a fully virtual draft starting Thursday, handling the bulk of their draft duties from the comfort of their own homes.

But, while teams and soon-to-be rookies are caught up in the business of draft week, veteran players like Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans are left wondering what to do. Usually around this time, players would be taking part in OTAs, but with social distancing and public safety taking precedence, as it should, things are a little out of sync for veterans.

Evans took to Twitter today to share his thoughts on the matter.

Throwback Thursday: Bucs select Devin White in the 2019 NFL draft

Take a look back now to the 2019 NFL draft, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected a linebacker out of LSU named Devin White.

This year’s NFL draft was originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, the ideal city to hold such an extravagant event. But in light of the coronavirus pandemic, commissioner Roger Goodell informed all teams that this year’s draft will be fully virtual.

That means we won’t get to see players make the traditional walk to the stage to don the hat and hold up the jersey of their new team, all while giving Goodell a handshake or bear hug. But again, having the draft in a virtual format is the safest and smartest decision to make during these times, so hats off to the NFL for taking the necessary precautions.

Still, it’ll be an adjustment for both players and fans. In honor of Throwback Thursday, let’s take a look back now at last year’s NFL draft in Nashville, when a linebacker from LSU named Devin White officially became a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Top prospects to participate in virtual 2020 NFL Draft experience

More than 50 of this year’s top prospects will take part in the NFL’s virtual draft experience

The 2020 NFL Draft will be like no other, thanks to league and government restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The league has cancelled all public events set to take place in Las Vegas, and instead, this year’s draft will be a completely virtual experience.

That won’t stop this year’s top prospects from getting their chance to shine, though. The league will have more than 50 of this year’s best players involved in their virtual draft experience:

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young, Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor are among those confirmed to be taking part in the festivities.

The full list of virtual draft participants will be announced on NFL Network’s “Path to the Draft” show, Thursday at  8 p.m. ET.
