Marlon Humphrey shows off Alabama care package

Marlon Humphrey shows what former Alabama players receive in NFL care packages

The Alabama Crimson Tide currently leads the NFL with the most active players on NFL rosters, and they have for some time now. Under head coach Nick Saban, the Tide has seen unparalleled levels of success with 46 former players being selected in the first round of the draft.

Even once the guys leave Tuscaloosa to play on Sundays, they will always have Crimson in their DNA and will always be treated as family.

Marlon Humphrey, a former ‘Bama great, loves to show how well the University still takes care of him to this day. Humphrey posted a video to his Twitter of a care package Alabama sent to all former players and they brought the heat! In the video, Humphrey unpacks all of his gear that includes hats, jackets, and every kind of apparel one could need!

Catholics vs. COVID – Daily Notre Dame COVID-19 Update

Notre Dame’s positive tests for COVID went down again on Friday and as a result, in-person classes will resume.

The latest numbers are out for the University of Notre Dame as it continues to try to flatten the curve of positive COVID-19 cases on campus.

The latest update from the university is out and has the following statistics after Wednesday’s results have been released.

Thursday, Aug. 27 saw 632 tests administered, up from Wednesday.  15 of those tests came back positive on Thursday, which means it was just a 2.3% positive test rate.

Of the 5.366 tests given since Aug. 3, 537 have come back to be positive.  Those positive tests have been from 503 undergrad students, 29 graduate students and five university employees.

As a result, Notre Dame President Rev. John Jenkins announced Friday that in-person classes will resume on campus starting Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Notre Dame returns to classes Monday

The University of Notre Dame has officially reopened as classes for the fall semester of 2020 began today.

After a weekend of rumors and speculation about college football taking place or not taking place in 2020, some colleges and universities are officially opening their doors to students this week.

The University of Notre Dame is one such institution as they begin the new school year with their fall semester today.  Students will have classes for fall term straight through until Thanksgiving and then be on break until January 11, 2021.

With classes getting going and”normalcy” somewhat being returned to in that sense, we’d like to wish the best to all students, faculty and staff in what will undoubtedly be an incredibly strange academic year

Notre Dame cancels study abroad program for fall

Notre Dame’s football team won’t be the only Notre Dame students not traveling abroad this fall. Find out the latest here.

Notre Dame football was supposed to start their season in Dublin, Ireland, taking on Navy to begin the 2020 college football season.  Instead that game will be played a week later and in the United States.

The football team won’t be the only students not traveling abroad this fall however as the University has announced the cancellation of the 2020 study abroad program for this fall.

From Notre Dame’s student newspaper, “The Observer”:

“We understand how disheartening and disappointing this is to you, but please know that we are committed to your international education,” Michael Pippenger, vice president and associate provost for internationalization and Hong Zhu, senior director of global education, said in an email.

It’s another story that isn’t at all a surprise to read but is news nonetheless.  As expected as it may have been it still does stink for college students to not be able to study abroad after likely planning on dreaming of doing such a thing for so long.

Vols rally for win against Racers

Vols rally for win against Racers.

KNOXVILLE — The Murray State Racers came into Knoxville to play, and it took a second half rally for the Tennessee Volunteers to emerge with a 82-63 victory.

The win extends the nation’s longest current home winning streak to 28 games in a row at Thompson–Boling Arena.

Murray State kept the Vols in check for a good portion of the game, taking their first lead at the 16:05 mark of the first frame and holding it until midway through the second half. After a bit of back-and-forth, the lead was finally relinquished and Tennessee rode the rest of the way to victory. They held the Racers scoreless for the final seven-and-a-half minutes to seal the deal.

The Volunteers were led by Jordan Bowden’s 26 points, along with a couple of rebounds and an assist. Yves Pons was the only other player in double figures for the Vols, adding 19 points along with four rebounds and just as many blocked shots. Lamonte Turner dished out 14 assists in the winning effort.

Tennessee shot 50 percent from the floor, including an eye-popping 55 percent from behind the arc. They only coughed up the ball eight times, compared to 12 for Murray State. Their 68 percent mark from the charity stripe still leaves something to be desired, but a win is a win.

The Volunteers next face the No. 20-ranked Washington Huskies on Saturday, November 16, in Toronto, Ont. for the James Naismith Classic. Gametime is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
