Rutgers women’s soccer dips in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings

Rutgers women’s soccer sees their spot in the poll tumble after two losses this week.

Rutgers slid in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings this week after two losses in the last week to close out the Big Ten regular season.

In a disappointing end to the season, No. 20 Rutgers lost their last two games of the regular season at Michigan and then on Sunday at Michigan State. They finish the regular season 13-3-2 with a 5-3-2 mark in the Big Ten.

The Scarlet Knights finished the regular season atop the conference and were the preseason pick to end up winning the Big Ten again this season (an honor they shared along with Penn State). They ended in a four-way tie for fourth place.

They will face No. 12 Northwestern on Sunday in the Big Ten Tournament.

There are a total of four ranked teams from the Big Ten in this week’s poll. In addition to Northwestern and Rutgers, the Big Ten is being paced by No. 6 Michigan State. Also in the rankings are No. 25 Ohio State.
