UFC on ESPN 32: Katlyn Chookagian vs. Jennifer Maia odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 32 odds and lines between Katlyn Chookagian vs. Jennifer Maia, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s flyweight bout on the main card, Katlyn Chookagian and Jennifer Maia meet Saturday at UFC on ESPN 32 – also known as UFC Vegas 46 – at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nev. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 32: Chookagian vs. Maia odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Chookagian arrives in the octagon with tremendous physical size advantages. She stands five inches taller than Maia and with a four-inch reach advantage. In addition, Chookagian has a 4.57-to-3.80 significant strikes landed minute advantage and 0.41-to-0.14 submission average lead.

The American is coming off a pair of unanimous-decision wins over Viviane Araujo and Cynthia Calvillo, with three of her past four fights going the distance since a KO/TKO at UFC 247 in a title bout with Valentina Shevchenko in Feb. 2020. She is looking to keep up her winning ways to get another shot at the strap.

Maia also lost her shot at a title to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 255 in Nov. 2020. She bounced back with a unanimous-decision victory against Jessica Eye at UFC 264 in July 2021 to snap back on track.

This will be the second time these fighters will have faced each other at the UFC level. Chookagian won via unanimous-decision at UFC 244 in Nov. 2019. Six of Maia’s seven fights at the UFC level, and 10 of her past 11 professional bouts, have ended via decision.

UFC on ESPN 32 Chookagian vs. Maia: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Chookagian (16-4-0) | Maia (19-7-1)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

CHOOKAGIAN (-190) is a little more expensive than my personal limit of -180 on money line bets, but sometimes you have to make exceptions.

These fights went the distance at UFC 244, and Chookagian is a better fighter now than she was back then. She is a polished fighter who can wow the judges with her technique. She has eight wins across nine decisions since Nov. 12, 2016, and you can expect another one here.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing Fight to go the distance? Yes (-380) is just too expensive, but instead, roll with a Method of Victory wager instead. Playing CHOOKAGIAN BY POINTS (-133) is a much more sound value.

In a flyweight bout on the main card, Brandon Royval and Rogerio Bontorin meet Saturday at UFC on ESPN 32 – also known as UFC Vegas 46 – at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nev. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 32: Royval vs. Bontorin odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Royval heads to the octagon on a two-bout skid, losing via submission to Alexandre Pantoja last time out in Aug. 2021, and via Round 1 KO/TKO to Brandon Moreno at UFC 255 in Nov. 2020. Each of Royval’s four bouts at the UFC level has finished inside the distance, and six straight bouts have been via finishes.

Bontorin earned a no-contest victory at UFC 262 over Matt Schnell, snapping a two-bout skid of his own. He was knocked out in the first round against Kai Kara-France in the previous outing at UFC 259 in March 2021 and was stopped via unanimous decision against Ray Borg at UFC Fight Night 167 in Feb. 2020.

UFC on ESPN 32 Royval vs. Bontorin: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Royval (12-6-0) | Bontorin (17-3-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

The southpaw ROYVAL (-175) is a moderate favorite against Bontorin. He stands four inches taller than his counterpart with a one-inch reach advantage.

Royval also has a 3.44-to-2.82 significant strikes landed per minute advantage and is the more well-rounded fighter, posting a 1.74-to-1.20 submission average advantage, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

This isn’t going the distance, but playing Fight to go the distance? No (-210) is a little too expensive.

Royval can win it in a number of ways. He has five submission results across his past six professional fights, including four wins, while his other fight ended with a KO/TKO loss.

Play ROYVAL BY SUBMISSION (+185) for the best value in Method of Victory.

UFC on ESPN 32: Jake Collier vs. Chase Sherman odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 32 odds and lines between Jake Collier vs. Chase Sherman, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a heavyweight bout on the main card, Jake Collier and Chase Sherman meet Saturday at UFC on ESPN 32 – also known as UFC Vegas 46 – at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nev. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 32: Collier vs. Sherman odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Collier takes the walk to the octagon alternating losses and wins across his nine fights since arriving at the UFC, and is coming off a split-decision loss to Carlos Felipe at UFC 263. A win should be in the cards for Collier if the trend continues.

Sherman is looking to slap the brakes on a two-bout losing skid, a pair of unanimous-decisions losses to Parker Porter and Andrei Arlovski. He is just 1-2 in his previous three fights at the UFC level, and 1-5 across his last six fights at the UFC level overall.

UFC on ESPN 32 Collier vs. Sherman: Odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:55 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Collier -140 (bet $140 to win $100) | Sherman +110 (bet $100 to win $110)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes -160 | No +115)

UFC on ESPN 32 Collier vs. Sherman: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Collier (12-6-0) | Sherman (15-8-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

COLLIER (-140) is the lean here in this battle between two guys in desperate need of a win. Sherman has already been dumped from the promotion once before, and he might be fighting to stay at the UFC level. A loss might mean he is done, so expect to see him fire out of the box with authority.

Collier is considered the better-conditioned fighter, and he’ll withstand an early rain of blows from Sherman while using good technique to wow the judges in a fight that goes all the way.

Over/Under (O/U)

COLLIER ON POINTS (+155) is the conservative play, but the wise one. Sherman isn’t going to go quietly into the night, as he is fighting for his UFC life, but he also isn’t going to be able to score the win.

FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE? YES (-160) is also the best play, especially if you’re not confident on Collier winning and want some action on the fight. Each of Sherman’s last two fights has gone the distance, while Collier has one finish in his last five bouts.

UFC on ESPN 32: Calvin Kattar vs. Giga Chikadze odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 32 odds and lines between Calvin Kattar vs. Giga Chikadze, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a featherweight bout in the main event, Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze meet Saturday at UFC on ESPN 32 – also known as UFC Vegas 46 – at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nev. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 32: Kattar vs. Chikadze odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Kattar heads into this fight giving up two inches in reach. The veteran does hold a 5.07-to-3.76 advantage in significant strikes landed per minute, while Chikadze has a slight advantage in significant strike accuracy percentage.

Kattar suffered a unanimous-decision loss against Max Holloway last time out in the main event at UFC Fight Island 7 in Jan. 2021. He has never lost consecutive bouts in his mixed martial arts career. Three of his past four fights have gone the distance.

The Georgian fighter Chikadze has three straight KO/TKO wins, including a third-round victory over Edson Barboza in the main event at UFC Vegas 35 Aug. 28, 2021. He had four consecutive fights go the distance prior to the streak of KO/TKO wins.

UFC on ESPN 32 Kattar vs. Chikadze: Odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:33 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Kattar +190 (bet $100 to win $190) | Chikadze -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +130 | No -180)

UFC on ESPN 32 Kattar vs. Chikadze: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Kattar (22-5-0) | Chikadze (14-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

KATTAR (+190) is a value play with an opportunity to nearly double up with a victory. He is a punching machine who will be in very good shape as long as he can avoid going to the canvas with Chikadze.

The American is the biggest challenge Chikadze has faced since joining the UFC. Kattar has four KO/TKO victories under his belt across the past eight bouts, with three decision losses across the past seven outings. Kattar will do everything in his power to make sure this doesn’t go to the judges.

Over/Under (O/U)

Neither of these fighters has much interest in the judges deciding their fate, and neither has involved them much lately. As such, playing FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE? NO (-180) is the play. It’s not terribly overpriced, and a good play considering all of the KO/TKO victories for each fighter lately.

In addition, KATTAR BY TKO/KO (+450) is worth a small-unit play for a chance to turn a tidy little profit.
