The UAB Blazers (1-2) and the Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) meet Saturday night at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the UAB vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

UAB won 6 regular-season games and it picked up a victory over Miami-Ohio in the Bahamas Bowl last season. The Blazers have won 6 or more games in 7 consecutive seasons, but coach Trent Dilfer’s team is struggling mightily in 2023.

The Blazers opened with a 35-6 win over North Carolina A&T as a 24-point favorite on Aug. 31, cashing as a 24-point favorite. That was UAB’s last win, cover and Under result. The Blazers have allowed 45.0 points per game (PPG) in the past 2 games.

The top-ranked Bulldogs opened with a pair of wins against Tennessee-Martin and Ball State, averaging 46.6 PPG, while allowing just 10 total points. It eked out a 24-14 win over South Carolina last time out. The Under has cashed in all 3 games for Georgia so far, mainly because of the defense. The Dawgs have allowed just 8.0 PPG this season.

Georgia is No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

UAB at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 58, UAB 10

Moneyline

There was no money line at the time of publishing, but it wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway.

Against the spread

GEORGIA -42 (-110) is the lean. The Bulldogs are the top-ranked team in the nation, and it will iron out the kinks against a very giving UAB +42 (-110) defense.

The Bulldogs struggled against South Carolina’s defense, but it won’t have similar issues against UAB. The Blazers have coughed up 45.0 PPG in the past 2 games against FBS opponents, both losses, and UGA will add to their pain.

Over/Under

OVER 54.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board, and it wouldn’t be stunning at all to see Georgia take care of the Over on its own.

UAB has cashed the Over in both games against FBS foes Georgia Southern and Louisiana, yielding 45.0 PPG.

While Georgia has hit the Under in all 3 games this season, that’s mainly because of its defense. The Bulldogs will still hold down the Blazers, perhaps even to single digits, but Georgia could easily hit 55 or more points against this very giving D.
