A photograph of Kansas City’s outstanding blocked field goal got the full treatment from ArtButMakeItSports on Twitter after the final whistle blew at Arrowhead Stadium:

Twitter reacts to Patrick Mahomes asking ref to help him vs. Broncos

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes asked a referee “can you let me know if he’s close?” against the Broncos on Sunday.

In the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was tackled by safety Brandon Jones on a two-yard run that was negated by a penalty.

After the play, Mahomes jokingly (?) asked the referee to tell him when defenders were getting close. The remark seemed to be made in jest, but fans on Twitter/X were quick to react to the outrageous request from the QB.

The Chiefs were penalized on the play for having an offensive tackle line up in the backfield, so it’s also possible that Mahomes might have been asking for a warning when his linemen aren’t lining up correctly. Regardless, NFL fans weren’t pleased by the the audio captured by the CBS broadcast.

At the time of publication, the Broncos lead the Chiefs

Players’ social media posts reflect a broken culture in New Orleans

Khalen Saunders’ words on social media shows how frustrated the team is, and how Dennis Allen has lost the New Orleans Saints locker room:

Khalen Saunders tweets after the New Orleans Saints loss to the Carolina Panthers resembles a broken culture in New Orleans. Tensions were high heading into this game. There were talks of a players only meeting and also captains meeting with Dennis Allen.

It feels those attempts at elevating team morale were futile or at least reversed after losing to Carolina. After the game, Saunders went on social media to suggest he should play quarterback. It was a joke about fans wanting the number one overall pick, but Saunders said it would give the fans something fun to watch.

Derek Carr is your current quarterback, and Saunders’ words could be taken as Carr isn’t good enough or enjoyable to watch. While they may not have been Saunders’ message, that post came from a place of hurt. It’s hard to not see posts of frustrations through a certain lens.

Saunders later went on to call Saints versus Panthers the “Cottonelle DooDoo Bowl.” The Saints were supposed bounce back against Carolina. This was a team you blew out earlier in the season. Instead, you lost to the team with the worst record in the NFL.

Dennis Allen has lost this locker room. Tweets like these wouldn’t even happen if there wasn’t a fracture. Players are frustrated, and it’s beginning to spill into the public.

Chiefs veteran extends olive branch to Bills fans with hot take on Buffalo wings

#Chiefs DL Chris Jones may have helped squash the #Bills’ beef with Kansas City after making a comment about Buffalo wings on Twitter.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have developed an impressive rivalry in the Patrick Mahomes-Josh Allen era, and with a Week 11 matchup between the AFC powerhouses on the horizon, tensions between the teams may hit a fever pitch in November.

But Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones isn’t letting Kansas City’s competition with the Bills get the best of him.

When word spread that Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith had trashed Buffalo’s famous hot chicken wings, Jones took to Twitter to voice his opinion on upstate New York’s culinary merit.

Check out what Jones had to say about Smith’s comments:

Though Jones won’t let his affinity for Bar-Bill wings stand in the way of a dominant showing against the Bills in Week 11, this gesture of good-faith gastronomical analysis is sure to endear him to fans in Buffalo, even if only temporarily.

Twitter reacts to Broncos QB Bo Nix ‘Mossing’ Ravens DB Marcus Williams

Broncos QB Bo Nix went up to make an impressive touchdown catch against the Ravens on Sunday afternoon. Here’s how Twitter/X reacted.

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix made a huge play in the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, catching a two-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

Yes, you read that right: Sutton threw the pass to Nix.

Facing a fourth-and-goal from Baltimore’s two-yard line, Nix handed the ball to running back Javonte Williams behind the line of scrimmage. Williams then gave a reverse to Sutton, who then threw to Nix in the end zone.

Nix jumped up and beat Ravens safety Marcus Williams to the ball and came down with the catch in the end zone for a touchdown. Here’s a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the impressive play on Twitter/X.

Broncos Twitter slams NFL’s official account for not knowing ‘Barrel Man’ lore

“It’s kind of sad that the official NFL account admin doesn’t know who Barrel Man is, or what his significance is to the Broncos.”

During the Denver Broncos‘ 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, CBS cameras captured a baby Broncos fan dressed up as the “Barrel Man.”

The late Tim McKernan was a Broncos super fan who attended games wearing nothing but a barrel — rain or shine. A member of the Visa Hall of Fans at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the “Barrel Man” passed away in 2009.

Fifteen years later, whoever was running the NFL’s official Twitter/X page on Sunday apparently was not familiar with McKernan’s legacy in Broncos Country.

“What is happening here?? 😂🤠 @Broncos,” the NFL’s official page posted on Twitter/X during the game.

Broncos fans quickly chimed in.

“There was a Broncos super fan called Barrel Man who passed away, this is a Barrel baby,” @MileHighGreco responded to the tweet. “Happy to educate you.”

Dylan Pierce added: “It’s kind of sad that the official @NFL account admin doesn’t know who Barrel Man is, or what his significance is to the @Broncos.”

That sentiment was echoed by multiple fans.

“This is an embarrassing post from the intern running this account,” Mario Vetanze commented. “Barrel Man is a legend in Denver Broncos lore. To every single Broncos fan, it’s incredibly obvious ‘what is happening here.’ And I know I shouldn’t get upset about stuff like this but come on.”

“Feels like the official NFL account should know enough league history to know who Barrel Man was,” Shelby Manning wrote. “Big yikes.”

Yikes, indeed. A big whiff by the league’s official Twitter/X page.

Bears DB who taunted Commanders’ fans before game-winning TD apologizes

The Bears cornerback apologized to Chicago and his teammates for mistake.

Sunday was a day to forget for Chicago Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson. First, the second-year cornerback was burned by Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin for a 61-yard completion.

Later in the game, Stevenson was penalized for taunting Washington guard Sam Cosmi. Let’s set the scene for you here. Cosmi is 6-foot-6 and 309 pounds, while Stevenson is 6-foot-0 and 200 pounds. Somehow, on the same play, Stevenson made McLaurin so upset that teammates had to get the usually reserved McLaurin off the field.

McLaurin had some choice words for Stevenson.

Stevenson saved the best for last. On the final play, with the Bears leading 15-12 and two seconds on the clock, Stevenson was walking down the field toward the goal line and took time to taunt fans. This was while the play was going on, before rushing to his position, where he tipped the football into the waiting hands of Washington wide receiver Noah Brown to give the Commanders the win.

One X user, Paul Williams, took time to summarize Stevenson’s day with three images:

Afterward, Stevenson chose not to speak to the media, but did take to Twitter to issue an apology.

Good for Stevenson for quickly accepting his mistake. Social media can be an ugly place and while his actions on the field were hurtful to his team, he certainly doesn’t deserve some of the comments he received — or will receive — as a result.
