Panthers great Cam Newton has now spoken about Sunday’s wild brawl in Atlanta.
We have been waiting for Cam Newton to speak his piece on the wild brawl from this past Sunday. Well, he got it out there this morning.
The Carolina Panthers great capped off the Friday episode of 4th & 1 with Cam Newton by apologizing for his involvement in last weekend’s fight at a 7-on-7 youth football tournament. Newton, in a clip that has gone viral, was captured tussling with a pair of men—who were later identified as opposing coaches Steph Brown and TJ Brown.
“To every single high school player, to every single person I’ve influenced, to every single athlete—use my situation as a way to understand, that in one moment and one decision, your life can change. Just like that,” he stated. “And I let my emotions get the best of me, and it should not have been called for. Simple.
“And with that, I apologize to anybody affected—that’s Steph, that’s TJ, that’s their organization, that’s C1N, my organization, that’s my players, my parents, my staff members.”
Newton then went on to implore those watching to be better than him:
Atlanta police have since stated that both Newton and the coaches from TopShelf Performance elected not to press charges from the incident.
