Tom Brady recreated the Top Gun shirtless beach scene with Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman

Eat your hearts out, Tom Cruise and Miles Teller.

Tom Brady seems to really be enjoying the fruits of his retirement from the NFL. He’s now a part owner of the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, and he’s even started taking care of an adorable cat.

His latest venture? Playing shirtless beach football, ala Top Gun: Maverick, with ex-New England Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

A video captured by TV host Camille Kostek shows off the football greats recreating the famous beach scene. To put the cherry on top, it even has the same music overlayed from the movie.

Yes, Brady and Co. certainly aren’t “worried about it right now.”

Gronkowski beating Brady in coverage at the line of scrimmage? More of that! Yes, please! Though, to be fair, everything about this little clip is perfect.

Lady Gaga performs powerful version of ‘Hold My Hand’ at the Oscars

A stripped-down performance from the outgoing pop star.

Lady Gaga was a late addition to the lineup of performers for Sunday night’s Oscars, but she belted out a powerful and emotional rendition of Top Gun: Maverick‘s hit “Hold My Hand.” Before starting to sing, Gaga — who changed from her dramatic gown into a black t-shirt and torn jeans for the performance — spoke into the mic about how heroes are all around and that the song was deeply important to her. “You might find that you can be your own hero, even if you feel broken inside,” she stated.

Rather than a glitzy performance, Lady Gaga kept things simple having removed her makeup from earlier in the evening and opting for a single French braid. Her voice was powerful and strong as she belted out the lyrics.

It was wonderful.

Tom Cruise is reportedly skipping this year’s Academy Awards

Don’t expect Tom Cruise at tonight’s Academy Awards ceremony.

With the 95th Academy Awards just hours away, one of the night’s biggest stars will reportedly be elsewhere.

Deadline has reported that Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise will not be attending this year’s Oscar ceremony despite being nominated as a producer in the Best Picture category.

Cruise is reportedly in the United Kingdom filming 2024’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, and he has reportedly opted to stick with his production schedule instead of amending it to attend Hollywood’s biggest night.

If Top Gun: Maverick won Best Picture, longtime producer Jerry Bruckheimer would likely be one of the film’s representatives to accept the trophy.

Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie and Skydance Media CEO David Ellison are also nominated, though McQuarrie is likely with Cruise directing next year’s Mission: Impossible film.

Although, Lady Gaga will be attending the ceremony to perform the song “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick.

There will be plenty of celebrities in attendance at this year’s Academy Awards, even if Cruise is nowhere to be found.

You can check out our printable Oscars ballot to fill out your picks ahead of this evening’s ceremony, and you can check out our two sets of predictions.

Tom Cruise’s award history at the Oscars

Could Tom Cruise win his first Oscar on Sunday night, or has he won before?

With Top Gun: Maverick set to compete for the 95th Academy Awards, it’s worth wondering about its A-list star.

Tom Cruise has been a fixture in Hollywood since the the ’80s, appearing in such beloved films as the Mission: Impossible series, Risky Business, Days of Thunder, A Few Good Men, Rain Man, Minority Report and plenty more.

With Cruise nominated as a producer in the Best Picture race with Top Gun: Maverick, would he win his first Oscar if the film won the evening’s top prize?

Cruise has been nominated four times for various categories, but he’s never outright won a category.

He was nominated for Best Actor for acclaimed films like Born on the Fourth of July and Jerry Maguire, and he was nominated in Best Supporting Actor for the film Magnolia.

His producing nomination for the blockbuster Top Gun sequel would be his first Oscar win if the film indeed took home the Best Picture honor.

Predicting the 95th Academy Awards, which looks good for Everything Everywhere All at Once

Which films will take home Oscars this weekend? We have our guesses.

With the 95th Academy Awards just around the corner, it’s time we roll up our sleeves and make some predictions.

While it’s impossible to really know what will win (outside of a few locked-in categories), we here at For The Win have a hunch as to what will take home the Oscar gold on Sunday.

Predicting the Oscars is kind of like predicting the Super Bowl. You can size up stats, watch film (literally) and make your best-educated guess, but it’s anyone’s game.

The Academy Awards have long defied perfection on the prediction board; you’re always more lucky to get things right than expectant to.

We’ve gone through all the non-short film categories and rounded up who we think will win. If we’re right, we’re smart and knew all along. If we’re not, blame the Academy not us!

The 9 sequels that were nominated for Best Picture, including Top Gun: Maverick

Which sequels have been nominated for Best Picture? We’ve got answers.

The Academy Awards aren’t always known for throwing love at sequels.

While, yes, some films have broken through the void and earned respect from the Oscars, the industry has typically preferred original and adapted works.

Well, now that we’re headed toward another Oscar show, it’s time to take a look back at all the sequels that have won and been nominated in the Best Picture category.

There are actually more than you think!

Especially since the Oscars expanded the Best Picture nomination field past just five nominees, there are a good handful of sequels that have gotten some Oscar love in the show’s top category.

10 key takeaways from the 95th Oscar nominations, including Top Gun’s surprising misses

Breaking down the 2023 Academy Awards nomination’s surprises, snubs, favorites and more.

The 95th Academy Award nominations have made their way to the forefront of the culture conversation as of Tuesday morning.

While some of the awards love was expected (Top Gun: Maverick! Everything Everywhere All at Once!), other beams of approval came with a bit of a surprise (All Quiet on the Western Front! To Leslie?!).

After Oscar winner Riz Ahmed and Girls alum Allison Williams revealed this year’s slate of nominees, it became clear that some films are in perfect positioning for easy awards. Others, however, will remain in the dark as campaigning continues on for the little gold men.

In a post-pandemic Academy landscape, anything is possible, and no race is settled.

Let’s look at 10 key takeaways from this year’s nominations and what they mean for the 95th ceremony and the Oscars as a whole.

The show itself will take place on Sunday, March 12.

6 times Top Gun’s Miles Teller had the time of his life as the Phillies eliminated the Padres

The Top Gun: Maverick star is a HUGE Phillies fan.

Sunday night, the Philadelphia Phillies extended its improbable postseason run with a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. With the victory, the Phillies will head to the World Series, where the AL’s Houston Astros will be waiting. Philadelphia has continued to get big hit after big hit as they swept St. Louis in the Wild Card and went 3-1 in the ALDS against the 2021 champion Atlanta Braves.

The Padres bested the Phils in game two, sending the ALCS to the City of Brotherly Love knotted up at 1-1. In games four and five, the Phillies rallied from behind in front of a raucous home crowd.

One particularly happy fan was actor Miles Teller, a Philadelphia sports super fan. Teller, who played Rooster in this summer’s mega blockbuster, Top Gun: Maverick, took in the games from the stands and was even brought onto the field for a Danger Zone inspired moment.

Here are six times he was thrilled to be celebrating the Phillies in the NLCS this weekend, plus a bonus shot of him donning Eagles gear at Super Bowl LIV (despite Philly not playing in it).
