Gators quarterback Kyle Trask continues to see the nominations for postseason awards rack up. This time, he was named one of five finalists for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which is given annually to a Texas-based offensive player for their contributions both on and off the field.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year Division I Texas college.

Trask’s phenomenal redshirt senior season has him leading the FBS in both passing yards (4,129) and passing touchdowns (43).

He is joined as a finalist by Miami quarterback D’Eriq King, his former teammate at Manvel High School. Trask served as King’s backup, and his start against Tennessee last year was his first since his freshman year in high school.

The winner will be announced at a virtual ceremony in Tyler, Tex., in January.

Here’s the full list of finalists.

Kyle Trask, Florida
Jaelon Darden, North Texas
D’Eriq King, Miami
Sincere McCormick, UTSA
Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
