What all 30 MLB teams’ Fanatics-produced Nike jerseys look like at spring training

Are the jerseys that bad? You be the judge.

We’re just in the early stages of spring training across Major League Baseball, and uniforms have been all the talk at the camps in Arizona and Florida.

As part of the 10-year uniform agreement between MLB, Nike and Fanatics, a new uniform system and design were introduced for this season (first seen during the All-Star Game). And the early returns have not been positive. Nike designed the uniforms while Fanatics has produced both the on-field and retail versions since 2020.

Players across the league have complained about the cheap appearance and feel of the uniforms. It’s gotten to the point where players have escalated the issue to the MLBPA. Fans have also been critical of the name plates, which now have a pronounced curve with a smaller font. On top of that, the MLB logo has been lowered below the collar, making a crowded appearance.

But are the actual jerseys really that bad? You be the judge. Here’s a look at what the spring training jerseys look like across MLB as the teams reported to camp.

7 best MLB free agents still available as spring training opens

Someone sign these guys already!

As Major League Baseball teams start welcoming players to spring training this week, a number of big names are still at home waiting for the phone to ring.

MLB used to be known for high-flying transactions all throughout the winter. Now Hot Stove Season is more like Electric Kettle Week with many free agents jobless until spring training heats up.

It’s really not as big of a deal as it sounds. Spring training was much more important a few decades ago, before players could dedicate their entire offseason to working out and improving their mechanics. But both fans, players and agents would like to see the signings start to pick up.

Here’s a look at the biggest names still available in no particular order.

MLB spring training 2024: When does each team report to camp?

Spring begins in February this year

It might still be February, but as far as the baseball calendar is concerned, it’s the start of spring out there.

Well, spring training, at least. With the football season over, MLB season is officially picking up and pitchers and catchers are already begin reporting to camp.

That includes Shohei Ohtani, who is already mashing home runs in a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey just five months after Tommy John surgery. There’s even a possibility he’ll be able to serve as a designated hitter by Opening Day!

If that’s not motivating players to get camp early, nothing will. But just in case the pros want to soak up as much of their winter vacation as possible, here’s a look at when each team is required to report to spring training.

A very good dog caught a home run ball at a Dodgers spring training game

What a good dog!

During a Saturday spring training game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals, a home run turned into a game of fetch for one lucky dog.

As Dodgers second baseman Michael Busch hammered one over the wall in Los Angeles’ preseason finale, the ball hopped over just enough to where a dog in the crowd caught it with his mouth and proudly gave it to his owner.

The world needs more dogs that are able to catch home run baseballs, and it was delightful to see everyone in the crowd cheer on the dog as he retrieved the ball for his owner, who sported a K-9 Dodgers jersey.

Spring training may not have actual stakes for the regular season, but if a dog can catch a baseball, it’s still worthwhile for the folks in the stands.

Someone make sure that dog gets to keep the baseball and is given plenty of treats for his very good fetching.

Every former LSU player set to make a 2023 MLB roster

Here are the eight former LSU players expected to make an impact with a big-league club

Opening Day is fast approaching.

Spring has sprung and professional baseball is upon us. While LSU is having success on the college front, several alumni are enjoying stints in the big leagues. LSU has eight former players expected to earn significant playing time with even more in the minors.

We’re taking a look at the expectations for each as they begin their 2023 season. Eight is a decent number. Baseball isn’t like football where nearly everyone goes to college, but LSU still produces a good amount of talent.

We begin with the biggest name: [autotag]Alex Bregman[/autotag].
