Colts’ final 53-man roster projection following the preseason

Our final 53-man roster projection for the Colts following the preseason.

The Indianapolis Colts have until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET to cut the roster down to 53 players.

The roster will change throughout the season and even more likely the day after these cuts are made due to the waiver claim period. But the initial 53-man roster will lay the foundation for what the Colts want for the regular season.

Some roster cuts will be strategic. The Colts may keep a player on the initial 53-man roster so they don’t have to subject them to waivers right away. This would be in the hope that they can sneak that player onto the practice squad later after other teams have already made their moves.

Without further ado, here’s our final 53-man roster projection for the Colts following the preseason:

Colts’ 53-man roster projection entering OTAs

Here’s a quick 53-man roster projection as the Colts enter OTAs this week.

The Indianapolis Colts are set to begin organized team activities (OTAs) Tuesday so it’s time to take a look at another projection for the 53-man roster.

It is still far too early to know how the roster will look at the end of August when the final cuts are made in one fell swoop. We took a shot at projecting the roster following the 2023 NFL draft, and this one will have a slight change to it comparatively.

While no jobs are won in the spring, this is the time when some players can begin their journey of carving out roles or creating space in competition leading into training camp.

Here’s a look at a 53-man roster projection before the Colts enter into OTAs:

Colts’ 53-man roster projection post 2023 NFL draft

With the draft over, here’s a way-too-early 53-man roster prediction for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts will be rounding up the additions of the undrafted rookie free agent class following the 2023 NFL draft as they prepare for a big month of offseason training.

After concluding the draft with the biggest class of the Chris Ballard era (12), there will be a lot of competition on the roster to keep an eye on throughout OTAs, minicamp, training camp and the preseason.

There are some really intriguing undrafted rookies who could push for a roster spot, but we only have one making the cut as of this writing. That certainly could change over the course of the next few months.

A lot is going to change over the next few months leading up to roster cuts at the end of August, but here’s a way-too-early prediction of the 53-man roster following the draft:

Colts’ final 53-man roster, practice squad projection

Our final 53-man roster prediction for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts have until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET to cut the roster from 80 to 53 players.

There will be some surprises along the way, and we’ll keep you updated with each move leading up to the deadline with our roster cuts tracker.

But without further ado, here’s our final 53-man roster and practice squad prediction for the Colts:

Colts’ 53-man roster prediction after preseason Week 2

Predicting the 53-man roster following preseason Week 2.

The Indianapolis Colts have one more preseason game to get through before the roster is to be cut down to 53 players ahead of the 2022 campaign.

The deadline for the next round of roster cuts is Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Colts must reduce their roster to 80 players, which means they must release or waive four players from their current roster. We made our predictions of those four moves.

On the Tuesday following the preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Colts will cut their roster down to 53 players.

With one more preseason game remaining, here’s an updated prediction of what the 53-man roster will look like:

Colts’ 53-man roster prediction after two weeks of training camp

A 53-man roster prediction two weeks into training camp.

The Indianapolis Colts have gotten through two weeks of training camp following Sunday’s fully padded practice at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield.

Even though we have had seven practices to work off of, the roster is still coming together. The preseason games will wind up playing a major factor in determining the back-end roster spots, especially at running back and linebacker.

Through the first two weeks of training camp, here’s a prediction of how the 53-man roster will look:

Colts’ 53-man roster prediction before training camp

Our final 53-man roster prediction before Colts training camp commences.

Indianapolis Colts training camp is just about here as the veterans report Tuesday in Westfield. That means it’s time for our final 53-man roster prediction before 2022 training camp begins.

The roster cuts won’t be all at once during the preseason. In fact, five are made following the first preseason game, bringing the roster down to 85 players. Then, another five are made following the second preseason game, bringing it down to 80 players. The final 27 cuts will then be made in one fell swoop following the third and final preseason game.

A lot will change over the course of training camp and the preseason, but we’re still going to make our prediction given the information we currently have.

Without further ado, here is our final 53-man roster prediction for the Colts entering 2022 training camp:

Colts’ 53-man roster prediction after offseason

Predicting the 53-man roster after the offseason workouts.

The Indianapolis Colts are away for summer following the conclusion of minicamp so it’s time for us to take a crack at predicting the 53-man roster.

Admittedly, this prediction is likely too early in the process. The spring workouts set the foundation for the position battles, but the jobs aren’t totally won until training camp and the preseason games arrive. At this point in the offseason, we can only go off of the information we have at hand.

With that said, there have already been some major changes to the roster since the last time we did a roster prediction. Now that the offseason workout program is concluded, here’s an updated look entering the summer:

Colts’ early 53-man roster prediction entering OTAs

With OTAs right around the corner, here’s a 53-man roster prediction for the Colts.

With organized team activities (OTAs) just around the corner, the Indianapolis Colts have a pretty good idea of what the roster will look like when training camp arrives at the end of July.

The Colts are set to officially begin OTAs on Tuesday, May 24. They will get 10 practice sessions. This is considered Phase Three of the offseason workout program, and it will be the first time that the team will be together while the rookies are included. No live contact is permitted but the team can begin running drills against each other.

The final OTA session on June 16 will be the last time the Colts are together until reporting for training camp.

While jobs aren’t won in the spring, the foundation will be set for several training camp battles. From left tackle to the third cornerback spot, this is where a strong spring showing can be carried into training camp.

As OTAs are set to begin next week, here’s a prediction of the 53-man roster:

Our final prediction of the Colts’ 53-man roster.

The Indianapolis Colts will be working over the next day or so to cut down the roster to from 80 to 53 players ahead of the deadline on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Some of the cuts have already been made and more will leak out leading up to the deadline on Tuesday. We have a tracker that will keep you updated on those developments.

But now, it’s time for a quick prediction of what the 53-man roster will look like when the announcement is made:
