ONE Fight Night 10 results: Roberto Soldic knocked out by underdog Zebaztian Kadestam

Robert Soldic was one of the hottest free agents in 2022, but has had a rough stretch of time in ONE Championship thus far.

The ONE Championship woes continue for [autotag]Roberto Soldic[/autotag].

Part of the ONE Fight Night 10 main card, Soldic (20-4) was finished by [autotag]Zebaztian Kadestam[/autotag] (15-7) with a full-fledged striking onslaught at 0:45 of Round 2.

After a punch-heavy opening round between the two powerful strikers, Soldic was dropped by a right hand that marked the beginning of the end. Soldic made a valiant effort to survive, but as he picked himself up off the canvas, another heavy right hand landed.

A follow-up left hand crumpled Soldic again before a big knee drilled him right between the eyes (as the ONE Championship ruleset was in full effect). The bout was swiftly waived off mid-knee.

Soldic, 28, was one of the sports hottest free agents in 2022. After meetings with the UFC and other major promotions, Soldic elected to sign with ONE Championship. On a seven-fight winning streak, Soldic made his ONE Championship debut in December. His bout ended in a no contest after he struck in the groin.

Kadestam, 32, was a +416 average across major online sports books (per BestFightOdds). The victory Friday was his third win in a row. Kadestam has a 100 percent finishing rate with 13 of his 14 victories by knockout or TKO.

Roberto Soldic set for promotional debut at ONE on Prime Video 5

Regarded as one of the best fighters outside the UFC, former KSW double champion Roberto Soldic is set for his ONE Championship debut.

Perhaps the most high profile recent addition to the ONE Championship roster has a date and opponent for his promotional debut.

Former KSW double champion [autotag]Roberto Soldic[/autotag] (20-3) will enter the ONE Championship cage for the first time Dec. 2 when he takes on [autotag]Murad Ramazanov[/autotag] (11-0). The welterweight fight will serve as part of ONE on Prime Video 5 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Considered by many MMA diehards one of the best fighters in the world outside of the UFC, Soldic held the KSW middleweight and welterweight titles prior to his exit. In 20 pro wins, the 27-year-old has 19 finishes and is regarded as an all-action fighter.

While Soldic hinted to MMA Junkie in February he expected to sign with the UFC. In March, Soldic met with UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell backstage in London, but he ultimately chose ONE Championship, which he signed with in August.

Ramazanov, 26, is undefeated as a professional. He’s 3-0 in ONE Championship thus far with victories over Myung Ho Bae, Hiroyuki Tetsuka, and Zebaztian Kadestam.

No other bouts have been announced for ONE on Prime Video 5 at this time.

ONE Championship signs KSW double champion Roberto Soldic

ONE Championship has signed Roberto Soldic, a KSW double champion many people view as one of the best fighters in the world.

[autotag]Roberto Soldic[/autotag] is no longer a free agent.

A double champion in KSW, Soldic (20-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has signed with ONE Championship. He announced the news Monday on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani.

Considered by many MMA diehards as one of the best fighters in the world outside of the UFC, Soldic held the KSW middleweight and welterweight titles. In 20 pro wins, the 27-year-old has 19 finishes and is regarded as an all-action fighter.

“People always think it’s all UFC,” Soldic told MMA Junkie in February. “… It’s hard to explain. UFC is UFC. It’s No. 1. When I started MMA, we watched UFC. This is (the) dream. When I go in America, when I spar with the guys, they know what KSW is, but nobody watches it. In Europe, they follow a lot.

“… We have really good pay-per-views and really good public full of fans (in) the arena. Everything is good because we live in Europe and it’s a European organization. But in the UFC and in the U.S.A., the world watches. You can be a big, big star – a superstar. In Europe, you have one maximum and that’s it.”

A date, location, and opponent for Soldic’s debut have not been announced.
