My favorite play in this match is to back the road side.

After all, Leipzig has been playing horrible soccer as of late, allowing 4 goals in their last 2 matches. They also kicked off the season with a 5-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the DFL-Supercup.

Similarly, while it has one hiccup, Dortmund has been dominant, winning 3 straight and allowing under 1 expected goal in each of those. Their defense, led by veteran D Mats Hummels, has been impressive, having yet to allow over 1.5 expected goals in any competition.

Dortmund is undefeated on the road as well, so they are familiar with being able to succeed in tough environments. Combine it all, and the value on Dortmund is too great not to play.

Against a Dortmund side with a terrific midfield and speed up top, they should be able to break through with ease, much like Shakhtar did in the Champions League.

There’s no reason why a team like Man City, which has the depth and talent to play with a mid-tier Bundesliga team even when down a few players, can’t come out on top.

They already slaughtered Leipzig earlier on in UCL action, and with F Phil Foden and M İlkay Gündoğan both expected to be active, City should just have too much talent.

They’ve been scoring at will in UCL play, and Leipzig is giving up more than two goals per game.

Given Man City’s defense, the second-best in the EPL, I expect a strong showing from the roadside although they already have the top spot clinched.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 3.5 (+133). Last time these two teams met, the total ended at 9. While City should be resting some its key players, they’ll still have talent on the pitch.

With Leipzig needing this win, Nkunku will likely be playing all 90 minutes. This is a must-win game for them, and they should do their best to break down the City backline.

I’d wait to bet this game until you see who City plays as many of their stars should be active, even if they don’t see time. If players like Foden and Raheem Sterling start, I wouldn’t hesitate hitting the Over here.

BET on PSG (+140) as they get a nice odds boost due to being on the road and also being down two key players.

Neymar and then players like M Angel di Maria and F Mauro Icardi should be able to still produce goals. It’s hard to quantify the impact of life without Messi and Mbappe, but Leizig has been that bad defensively in UCL action.

Also, PSG took down RB Leipzig and Man City in their last two matches, so they should be primed to continue their hot streak. Easily the best side in Ligue 1 action, expect PSG to come out on top despite being short-handed.

It’s really the only way to bet the money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 3.5 (+115) for a fraction of a unit.

The attacking prowess will still be alive, and Leipzig, while they are without key players, still have M Emil Forsberg and M Christopher Nkunku, both of which have four goals in Bundesliga action.

They will, however, be down D Lukas Klostermann, who has six starts on the season. His absence could hurt their already-weak defense. Down defenders and with attackers still present, RB Leipzig may force a score-heavy match.

With that in mind, I expect both sides to get on the board, but I think betting on more than three goals is always risky, especially without Mbappe or Messi.

Given the scenario, a small unit is a good move for the total.

With F Kylian Mbappe and Neymar on the roster, PSG will have no excuse when it comes to netting goals. In champions league play, PSG has defeated Man City and drawn Club Brugge.

That said, Neymar and Messi are both doubtful for this event.

BET on PSG (-175) as the best bet. For a team that’s been improving with its new personnel, PSG should get the job done. They drew Club Brugge a month ago and have since defeated Man City, one of the world’s best teams.

That said, this is great value for the best team in France against a mid-tier German side. M Ángel di María will be out as well, but PSG’s midfield should still be able to serve the three-headed monster with M Marco Verratti.

23-year-old F Christopher Nkunku has had all four of Leipzig’s UCL goals. He’s expected to play, potentially helping the PSG odds reach favorable levels.

At -175, it’s worth play given the level of talent on the roster. While PSG is banged up, they’re still the clearly more talented side.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 3.5 (+115) as the best value bet in this match. PSG has a dynamic attack, and in both league play and UCL play, Leipzig has shown a weak defense.

They allowed six to Man City and then two to Brugge. Against top-tier opponents, Leipzig has struggled to keep up.

PSG is another highly lethal attack, and it’d be shocking to see them tamed by a club that has struggled to limit even lower-level German clubs. PSG should be able to net several goals behind the star-studded trio.

Also to note, PSG hasn’t been perfect. They didn’t allow a goal against Man City, but luck was on their side as Man City took almost double the shots as PSG. In league play, they’ve given up a goal per game.

Leipzig has scored in both UCL matches so far, against even a strong Man City defense. Expect the road side to get on the board at least once as well.
