Colorado Rapids vs. Houston Dynamo odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Houston Dynamo odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

In one of the seven MLS games Saturday, Colorado Rapids (8 wins, 4 losses, 4 draws) travel further south to take on Houston Dynamo (3-6-9) at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Houston Dynamo odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Rapids are sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Having played two fewer games than all three teams higher than them yet only down respectively four, five and six points, this match will have massive implications.

They’ll be taking on the 11th-ranked Dynamo.

However, while their record is ugly, Houston has yet to lose at home, winning three of their seven home matches. That said, Houston also hasn’t won since May 22. So they’ve been struggling to get the job done as of late.

Prediction

Houston Dynamo 1, Colorado Rapids 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” on the DRAW +230 as the best value on the money line. As noted before, the Dynamo have yet to lose at home. The Dynamo are averaging almost two points per game in front of their home crowd.

While they haven’t won in months, they have drawn three of their last five and have drawn four of seven at home. Houston has the most draws in the conference.

The Rapids have drawn three of their last seven. With neither team being a great money line value, the draw is the best bet but just for half a unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET to the UNDER 2.5 (-120) as the Rapids have the second-best defense in the West. They’ve allowed just a goal per game. The only team with a better opponent’s goals per game is Seattle.

As for Houston, they’ve given up 25 goals in 18 games. There isn’t a top-16 scorer in this game as Houston F Maximiliano Urruti has the most goals of any competing.

Both teams have had four of their last five games go Under 2.5 goals, so I’d expect them to combine for less than three. This is the best value of the entire game.
