The Phoenix Suns (15-3) take their 14-game win streak to Madison Square Garden for a meeting with the New York Knicks (10-8) Friday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Knicks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns are the hottest team in the league right now. Their most recent win was a 120-115 road victory Wednesday over the Cleveland Cavaliers where G Devin Booker scored 35. Booker is averaging 23.1 points per game this season.

The Knicks last played Tuesday when they defeated the visiting Los Angeles Lakers 106-100. They have alternated wins and losses in each of their last six games. C Julius Randle leads five players averaging double digits in scoring at 20.4 points per game and also adds 10.3 boards per contest.

Suns at Knicks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 108, Knicks 101

Money line

The Suns have been rolling. Six games of their 14-game win streak have come on the road and they’re 3-0 against Eastern Conference teams.

The Knicks are only 5-5 at home this season, although they have won three of their last four at Madison Square Garden.

However, the Suns are healthy and there is no reason to believe they can’t continue this streak.

Take the SUNS (-160).

Against the spread

The Suns are only 9-9 ATS on the year despite their 15-3 record and have covered the spread in only one of their last six games.

The Knicks is 8-10 ATS on the year and are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games. New York is 4-6 ATS at home this season.

Take the SUNS -3.5 (-110) against such a small spread.

Over/Under

The Suns’ last four games finished Over the projected total but the four prior to that stayed Under. They are 8-10 O/U on the year.

The Knicks are 6-12 O/U overall and their last eight games have stayed Under the projected total.

Take UNDER 216.5 (-112).

Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The red-hot Phoenix Suns (14-3) are on the road to face the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-9) for the second and final time this season. Tip-off is 7 p.m. ET at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns have won 13 straight games. The streak actually started with a win at home over the Cavaliers Oct. 30. The winning streak includes five consecutive wins on the road.

The Cavaliers have fallen off. After winning nine out of 12 games, they now have lost their last four in a row. Before losing 117-112 to the Brooklyn Nets  Monday, they went six consecutive games without scoring 100 points. Injuries have been an issue as G Collin Sexton will be out a while with a knee injury and rookie F Evan Mobley is out for at least a couple of weeks with an elbow injury.

Suns at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Cavaliers 99

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Cavaliers could win, but between the way the Suns are playing and the recent struggles of the Cavs, betting for Cleveland wouldn’t be a smart play. Meanwhile, betting the Suns doesn’t pay out enough to be worth your time and money.

Against the spread

The Suns beat the Cavaliers by nine Oct. 30 at home, not quite covering the 10-point spread that game. The Cavs would cover the spread in seven straight games, but then failed to in four straight before covering the spread in their five-point loss to the Nets.

They are 11-5-2 ATS, which is the second-best ATS record in the league.

The Suns are 9-8 ATS overall but have covered the spread in only one time in their last five games after covering in seven in a row.

The Suns are averaging 113.5 points per game in their winning streak, while the Cavs are averaging 98 in their four-game skid.

Take the SUNS -6.5 (-120).

Over/Under

The Cavs are only 6-12 O/U this season, and the Suns are 7-10 O/U. However, this projected total is very low.

Only three of the Suns’ 13 wins in their streak have had totals of 208 or less.

The Cavs average a total of 204.9 points, but Phoenix is scoring too much to keep it below tonight’s projected total.

Take OVER 208.5 (-115).

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (13-3) travel to AT&T Center Monday to take on the San Antonio Spurs (4-11). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns at Spurs odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Coming in with a record that only falls short in comparison to the Western Conference-leading Golden State Warriors, the Suns have won 12 in a row following a shaky 1-3 start.

The hangover from making the Finals is not real as Devin Booker and the Suns couldn’t look better. They’re 11-3 in conference play and 5-1 on the road. Phoenix is 9-7 against the spread (ATS) and 6-10 Over/Under (O/U).

As for the Spurs, they’ve been far worse than many expected. While G Dejounte Murray has progressed into a full-blown star, the help from Keldon Johnson and Derrick White among others hasn’t been there consistently.

At home, the Spurs are just 2-4, one of five teams in the West with a sub-.500 home record. That said, the Spurs are 7-8 ATS and 6-8-1 (O/U).

Suns at Spurs odds, spread and lines

Suns at Spurs odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Spurs 104

Money line

PASS on the money line.

While I do like Phoenix to win on the road against a disappointing Spurs team, the -220 is too steep. This number really wouldn’t be playable unless it dropped to under -180.

On the other hand, given the Suns are on a 12-game win streak and the Spurs look like they don’t want to win another game, I’d stay away from the +175 as well.

Against the spread

BET on the SUNS -5.5 (-107) as the best bet in this game. The Suns are ultra-hot right now, and they’re at full strength as well which makes the case even better.

Phoenix has won nine of its last 12 by more than five points, and it’s currently riding a three-game streak of wins by more than five.

The Suns also rank second in field goal percentage. San Antonio is 25th in defensive effective field goal rate. The Suns should have a heyday with the Spurs’ defense.

Combine that with the solid premier defending of Paul, Bridges and Crowder, and it should be tough for San Antonio to score. The Suns have the third-best defensive rating to the Spurs’ 24th-best offensive rating.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 221.5 (-115) because I don’t trust the Spurs playmaking against Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. As noted, the Spurs have the 25th-best offensive rating.

San Antonio has scored less than 95 points in two straight games and in three of its past six. This isn’t an elite scoring or shooting team, which is one reason why the Spurs have struggled to win games.

Likewise, the Suns are averaging the fourth-best points per game. If the Over hits, Phoenix has to top its average and get a much better than expected performance from San Antonio, which seems unlikely.

With that in mind, I’d lean towards the Under.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (9-7) meet the Phoenix Suns (12-3) for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off at Footprint Center Sunday. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Nuggets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Denver is a loser of three in a row to the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls following a five-game winning streak. The Nuggets are 7-9 ATS and 5-11 O/U with the ninth-best net rating (plus-2.5). Denver big Nikola Jokic leads the NBA in PER and Win Shares per 48 Minutes.

Phoenix enters on an 11-game winning streak with the last two coming in a home back-to-back against the Mavericks. The Suns excel in defense (ranked third in defensive rating) and ball security (second in assist-to-turnover rate). Phoenix is 8-7 ATS and 5-10 O/U with the fifth-best net rating (plus-5.3).

The Nuggets hammered the Suns 110-98 as 6-point road underdogs in each team’s season opener. However, Phoenix did sweep Denver (4-0 ATS) in their Western Conference Semifinals playoff series last season.

Nuggets at Suns odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 12:45 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Nuggets $250 (bet $100 to win $250) | Suns -320 (bet $320 to win $100)

Nuggets at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Nuggets 104

Money line

PASS since Phoenix is the right side but the Suns (-320) is way too expensive for any NBA regular-season favorite especially when playing a team who is top-10 in net efficiency.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the SUNS -7.5 (-112) because Phoenix’s pick-and-roll offense is too much for Denver.

For instance, Phoenix grades in the 96.6 percentile of the NBA in pick-and-roll offensive efficiency through the “roll man” and the Suns run that play type at the second-highest frequency.

On the other hand, Denver’s defensive efficiency vs. pick-and-roll action through the “roll man” grades in the 24.1 percentile.

Furthermore, Phoenix has two long bigs to throw out Jokic whenever he’s on the court. Not only is Suns big Deandre Ayton an up-and-coming star who played very well against Jokic in the playoffs last year. But, Phoenix backup big JaVale McGee is one of the best backup centers in the Association.

Also, Porter played in the first Nuggets-Suns meeting this season and Denver will miss his ability to space the floor with his 3-point shooting, especially Jokic who loves to hit wide-open shooters when defenses collapse on him.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 208.5 (-115) because Phoenix’s offense plays at the fourth-highest pace in the NBA and Denver’s transition offense is pretty efficient. If the Nuggets are forced to speed up the tempo then Denver should do its part in pushing this game Over the total.

Additionally, if Phoenix finds success running its pick-and-roll action it’s going to free up wide-open looks for forwards Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. And, as we already discussed, the Suns should knife through Denver’s flimsy pick-and-roll defense.

Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Mavericks (9-5) face the Phoenix Suns (11-3) at Footprint Center for the second time in three nights Friday. Tip-off is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Mavericks vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns defeated the Mavericks 105-98 Wednesday night for their 10th consecutive victory. Dallas led by five points entering the final quarter before the Suns outscored them 37-25 in that frame. G Devin Booker led the Suns with 24 points and C Deandre Ayton added 19 points and 13 boards.

The Mavs were without G Luka Doncic Wednesday and were led by G Tim Hardaway’s 22 points while C Kristaps Porzingis added 21 and 8 boards. The Mavericks had won two straight, and five of six, games before the loss to the Suns.

Mavericks at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 115, Mavericks 100

Money line

The money line is priced such that the only way it is worth betting is to expect the Mavericks to come away with an outright win.

The Mavericks have not lost consecutive games all season. In fact, they have not lost two consecutive regular-season games since April 16 and 18 last season.

However, two games in a row against the same team often has one close game and one game that goes a little sideways. The Mavs had their close game without Doncic Wednesday.

I don’t think they have an upset in them without Doncic again Friday. PASS on the money line.

Against the spread

The Mavs had their close game — they were in the lead much of the game before the Suns caught fire in the fourth quarter. The Mavs covered the 8-point spread by 1 point.

It was the third time in their last four games that the Mavs covered the spread while the Suns failed to cover in a win for the second straight game. Phoenix is 7-3 ATS during its 10 game win streak.

With Doncic likely out for the second straight game and the Suns basically at full health, and with the fourth quarter going the way it did in the last game, I expect that more from the start.

Take the SUNS -7.5 (-107).

Over/Under

Wednesday’s game stayed Under the projected total.

It was the fourth straight game for the Suns, and the fifth game out of six, that went Under.

It was the first time in four games the Mavs had a game stay Under the projected total.

I expect some offensive carryover from the fourth quarter, when the teams combined for 62 points.

Take OVER 211.5 (-110).

Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Mavericks (9-4) face the Phoenix Suns (10-3) on the road for the first two consecutive games. Wednesday’s game tips off at 10 p.m. ET at Footprint Center. Below, we look at the Mavericks vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Mavericks lead the Southwest Division, having won five of their last six games. They are coming off a 111-101 home win over the Denver Nuggets. Their offensive attack is led by G Luka Doncic who averages 24.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game. However, he will miss this game with sprains in his knee and ankle. They are 3-3 on the road.

The Suns have won nine straight games. They have the league’s No. 4 offense, averaging 111.0 points per game and, over their last three games, are only allowing 93.0 points per game. C Deandre Ayton returned to the lineup  Monday after missing five straight games with a leg contusion.

Mavericks at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Mavericks 98

Money line

PASS on the money line. It is priced the way it is because of the injury to Doncic. This would otherwise be a great matchup of two teams seemingly well on their way to the playoffs. However, a full-strength Suns unit is expected to take care of business tonight against a Mavericks team missing its best player and the focal point of their offense.

Against the spread

The Suns are 8-5 ATS on the season overall. They did not cover the spread in their win Monday but did in their previous seven games. They are 4-3 ATS at home.

The Mavericks are 5-8 ATS this season. They have not won or covered the spread this season in any game in which they were underdogs.

Take the SUNS -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Despite the Suns having the No. 2 scoring offense in the league, the Under has hit in four of their last five games because of their defense. They have allowed an average of 93.0 points in their last three games.

The Mavs had their last three games go Over the projected total, but they are only 4-7-2 O/U this season. And without Doncic, they won’t have the firepower to keep up with G Devin Booker and G Chris Paul.

Take UNDER 215.5 (-107).

Analyzing Friday’s Phoenix Suns at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (7-3) kick off a three-game road trip when they face the Memphis Grizzlies (6-5) Friday. Tip-off from FedExForum is at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns are riding a six-game win streak and are coming off a 119-109 vicotry over the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday. C Frank Kaminsky, getting significant playing while C Deandre Ayton has been hurt, scored a career-high 31 points in the win.

The Grizzlies are wrapping up a three-game homestand. They split the first two games, most recently a 118-108 loss to the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday. G Ja Morant is averaging 26.5 points per game this season and F Dillon Brooks is averaging 20.0 points per game.

Suns at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 116, Grizzlies 113

Money line

The Suns are rolling with a six-game win streak and are 2-1 on the road this season. The Grizzlies have not won or lost more than two games in a row this season.

While the Suns likely will be without Ayton, they have been getting big production from Kaminsky in his place, while the Grizzlies have a hard time replacing Brooks’ 20 points a game.

I lean SUNS (+100).

Against the spread

The Grizzlies are 7-4 ATS this season, and 4-2 ATS at home. Memphis is 3-1 ATS as a favorite.

The visiting Suns are 6-4 ATS and 2-1 ATS on the road.

Phoenix has covered the spread in its last five games. This is only the third game this season where the Suns are not favored.

I’m riding them until they slow down. Take the SUNS +1.5 (-112).

Over/Under

Both teams have played more to the Under than the Over to start the year, but three of the Suns’ last four games went Over the projected total. Four of the last five games for the Grizzlies stayed Under the projected total.

Their last two matchups from last season had totals of 221 and 225 points.

The Suns are averaging 116.8 points in their last five games. As I expect Memphis to keep it close, take OVER 221.5 (-108).

Houston Rockets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Houston Rockets at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

On Thursday evening, the Houston Rockets (1-6) will travel to the Footprint Center to take on the Phoenix Suns (3-3). Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Rockets vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Rockets are coming off an impressive road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers highlighted by another strong performance from rookie SF Jalen Green. C Christian Wood has been the team’s strength, averaging over 20 points per game.

While the Rockets aren’t expected to make much noise this season, they do have a roster that should contend with the top of the West on a nightly basis. The opposite can be said of the Suns who have high expectations set on them.

Led by future Hall of Famer PG Chris Paul and superstar SG Devin Booker, the Suns have struggled out the gate, potentially some hangover from making the NBA Finals.

Phoenix is coming off a big come-from-behind victory over the injury-riddled New Orleans Pelicans. They’ll enter this game as heavy favorites.

Rockets at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 112, Rockets 101

Money line

PASS on all aspects of this money line. With Ayton potentially out, Wood may see some added touches.

At +470, the upside that Houston plays with makes it a viable option, but I’d still rather not play that side as I’m drastically lower on the Lakers than the public, and I don’t think their two-point loss says that much.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the SUNS -10.5 (-112) as the Rockets have five double-figure losses so far this season.

Ayton should be back as the Suns need to start stringing wins together. They’ve been underwhelming to start the season, but the infrastructure is still there. That said, this is a bad matchup for the Rockets.

They’re great, top six in opponent’s three-point percentage, at defending the three, but they rank in the bottom half of the league in opponent’s overall field goal percentage.

With the Suns composed and one of the best two-point shooting teams in the NBA, I expect them to have their way with Houston.

The experience factor should also loom large as the Rockets have relied on big-time performances from Green to help out Gordon and Wood this season.

If that doesn’t happen against a side with talented defenders like SF Jae Crowder and SF Mikal Bridges, then it could be a long night for the Rockets.

While I do like this Rockets team, the Suns should get a big-time home win as they’ve dropped five of their six by double figures. The Suns are more like the Jazz that took down Houston by 31 than the Lakers.

Over/Under

BET the UNDER 217.5 (-105) as Houston has scored fewer than 100 points in three games this season. On top of that, they are a solid defensive side, ranking 12th in the league in defensive rating.

With both teams not in the top half of the league in scoring, I expect a game that could be high-paced but should be sloppy, much like the Suns’ last outing with New Orleans. The Rockets rank dead last in turnover rate, so the Suns’ defense should be able to drastically limit them.

Given that note and that the Suns rank in the bottom five in three-pointers attempted per game, I expect a low-scoring affair.
