2020 Masters Tournament specials picks and predictions

Highlighting five tournament specials to bet for the 2020 Masters as we seek value on the betting favorites to win.

The Masters Tournament is the Super Bowl of the PGA Tour golf season. Much like its cross-sport equivalent, the event annually brings an expanded range of betting markets. SportsbookWire continues to provide 2020 Masters picks and predictions and below, we’ll look for value in the tournament specials at BetMGM.

Dustin Johnson to make an eagle in Round 1: +350

I mentioned on Bet Slippin’ Podcast’s Masters special, at this point I’m not betting the tournament favorites to win outright. There’s just no longer any value in any of the seven golfers priced below +2000 to win the Masters. Instead, I’m looking for the top prop-bet options for each one.

Johnson, the 2019-20 FedEx Cup champion comes into the Masters ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He has won twice since the PGA Tour’s mid-June restart with three runner-ups, including last week’s Houston Open. He’s also one of the longest hitters on Tour and should have an advantage with the course expected to play long in wet conditions.

Bryson DeChambeau to birdie or better the 13th hole in all 4 rounds: +500

The 510-yard, par-5 13th played as the easiest hole at Augusta National last year with a tournament scoring average of 4.474. It saw 17 eagles and 158 birdies carded against just 23 bogeys and four scores of double bogey or worse.

DeChambeau is now the longest hitter on the PGA Tour and should be able to hit a short iron or wedge into this green. He’s just +750 to win the Masters and offers great value on this prop.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both to make the cut: +110

Tiger and Phil combine for eight green jackets. Woods is the defending champion and hasn’t missed the cut here since 1996; Mickelson last missed the cut in 2016 but was T-18 last year. Both have the distance and experience to be in the top 50 and ties after the first 36 holes.

Tiger Woods Betting Promotion:

Bet $1 on Tiger Woods to win the 2020 Masters Tournament, WIN $100 (in free bets) if Tiger makes a birdie.

Place your legal, online golf bets in CO, IN, NJ, TN and WV at BetMGM, The King of Sportsbooks. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Jon Rahm top European and DeChambeau top American: +2200

Rahm is No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings and DeChambeau is the 2020 US Open champion. They’re the No. 1 and 3 betting favorites for the tournament, with Johnson sandwiched in between. Neither needs to win for a 22-1 return on investment with this parlay.

Bernhard Langer and Fred Couples both to miss the cut: +175

As noted above, the 2020 Masters is expected to play long with weather a concern for all four days. There are also no patrons allowed on the grounds of Augusta National this week, a factor that’ll likely work against most former champions who can handle the pressures. Lean on youth at the 2020 Masters and bet on these past champs to miss the weekend.
