Which uncommitted players are likely coming to LSU?

LSU is having a great start to July on the trail, and the month could be about to get even better.

LSU has been red hot on the recruiting trail to start July.

This is a big-time of year for commitments. Players have wrapped up their visits for the summer and may want to have their recruitment concluded before their high school season begins in the fall.

Despite the recent wave of decisions, there are still plenty of big targets on the board. LSU has positioned itself well with quite a few. A few of these decisions could come in the next few weeks, with [autotag]Jalen Brown[/autotag] even poised to decide on Friday.

Let’s take a look at some of the guys you can expect to see put pen to paper for the Tigers when signing day rolls around.

3-star Texas running back lists LSU among top 12

The Tigers made the cut for Parker Jenkins, and they seem to be the heavy favorite to land him.

While locking down the state of Louisiana has clearly been a priority for new Tigers coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] since arriving on the bayou, he also hasn’t been afraid to compete for players in neighboring states, such as talent-rich Texas.

One prospect from the Lone Star State who LSU seems to have a good shot at is Klein Forest (Houston) running back [autotag]Parker Jenkins[/autotag], a three-star recruit in the 2023 class.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound back is currently rated as the No. 367 player nationally (and No. 25 running back) on the 247Sports Composite rankings. Jenkins announced his top 12 on Saturday via his Twitter account, and that list included the Tigers. It also features SEC foes in Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Arkansas, as well as Oregon and Florida State.

He also added that he plans to make a decision before the start of his senior season this fall.

LSU offered Jenkins back on March 30, and he has been a primary target since then. The lone Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports national director of football recruiting Steve Wiltfong is in favor of the Tigers, made on April 23. On3’s RPM also gives LSU a 95.1% chance of landing him.

Jenkins may not be the highest-rated running back in the class, but he’s still drawn interest from a lot of high-level programs. Kelly and the staff seem to like him, and the Tigers could be poised for a nice recruiting win in Texas.

Florida football makes this coveted running back’s top 12

Florida made three-star running back Parker Jenkins’s list of top 12 schools on Sunday.

Florida made three-star running back [autotag]Parker Jenkins[/autotag]’ list of top 12 schools on Sunday along with Northwestern, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Boston College, Florida State, SMU, Ole Miss, Houston, Oregon, LSU and Tennessee.

The 247Sports composite ranks him as 367th overall prospect and the 25th best running back in the country. Jenkins hails from Houston, Texas, and the Tigers currently hold the crystal ball prediction.

Even though Jenkins dropped a large list, it’s impressive Florida made his list of top schools considering it only offered him on May 4.

The Gators have quite a few running backs ahead on their board like five-star [autotag]Richard Young[/autotag], four-stars [autotag]Cedric Baxter Jr[/autotag]. and [autotag]Treyaun Webb[/autotag].

They sit in a great spot for Baxter and Webb currently. Head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag] want to take two running backs this cycle due to the committee approach they take in the backfield.

Florida likely wouldn’t push for Jenkins unless they miss on Baxter and Webb.
